So basically I would really enjoy some advice. I have seen a ton of amazing artist on this website, and I their tips would be amazing. Currently, I know basically everything about Photoshop but I am lacking a lot of creativity. If I will be able to learn a lot of different techniques, hopefully creativity will be grasped later on. Thanks in advance for all criticism.

One of my oldest signatures, created a few years ago:


This was one of my oldest so it is pretty shitty, I know. But it was just something I made after following a tutorial on youtube.

This signature and the next one were created by experimenting with different brushes in Photoshop. The images were taken from in game and I just modified them a lot.

Assassin Creed Signature:



I was really trying to figure out how many of you are making those amazing signatures. There were a couple if issues I was running into. One of the issues was the color theme. The image itself was specifically white and black and a mixture of some other colors. So I began experimenting but the huge issue was that a black and white signature does not look very good in a normal situation. So I tried to add some color but it feels like I put wayyy too much definition with the red. I am not sure how to change it though. It currently has a color theme, but I can't figure out any other colors to add to it. I do not want it to be a rainbow but there really isn't many other colors to collaborate with the original image and the red. Hopefully I explained that properly, if not then just ask me to rephrase it. I added the larger one as well because when I created it, I used a larger size which effected it's look a little bit.

League of Legends is one of my most favorite games so I tried to create a signature using one of the champions. It did not come out the way I envisioned it.

Naruto Demonic Signature:


The last time I used this type of a background, it was with an assassin creed render. I decided I really liked the background I created throughout the process. So, I went ahead and chose a new render and started creating something new out of my previous work. I think it came out a lot better than the assassin creed's one. What do you guys think? Also, I am having a ton of trouble figuring out how I should sign the signatures. Does anyone have any tips on the signing part?


youcantseeme Signatures:





These are two signatures I tried to make for a supporter. They did not come out as well as I planned so I will be re-doing them which you guys will see in a future update.

I woke up in the morning and basically said..."what the hell is that." So I changed the background of it because I think it looked horrid. I should probably go to bed before 3 am in the morning lol.

Glowing Text Effect:



Currently I am on a mission to complete a ton of different youtube tutorials on gfx creations that I have found. Every time I make a new gfx, I always add my own spice to it as well. Deaths Is Mystical:



My inspiration was basically the work I was doing in college. I have a Western Heritage class that I am currently taking. We were studying the Romans and Greeks. They have quite a mystical presence in the sense of what they believe in. The gods that we currently consider mythology. So basically, the staff symbolizes the mystical side for the gods that Spartans use to represent during their warfare. A major problem that I already know about is the streaks of white going across him.

These two images were actually meant for my background on my computer. I made them a smaller size in order to present them on here.

Any tips on how to current better signatures that look like the modern ones that people create, please let me know. Also, if someone has a link to how to create that awesome 3D word signatures that people have now, that would be nice too.

 

well try to stick with 2 colors if you are good enuf you can pull of 3 but most of the time stick with 2 colors. some will look good with alot of colors it just depends if you pull it off right. an btw any 2 colors will look good togeather, try it out make 2 squares an make the 2 dif colors an it will always go together. an try using complementary colors

 

I like number 3 the best
any chance you could make me a signature that has something to do with runescape, it don't have to be amazing as you can see mines rubbish atm

 

Thanks Bigk, it is good information to know that people normally use just around 2 or 3 different colors.

Yeah, I could try to make you one. It might not look the greatest, but I will try.

P.S. I laughed out of my chair when I seen your signature lol. I thought when I read your post, "It can't be that bad." Then I almost died when I seen it.

 

i thank your sig might be too big you might want to change it be for some one sees it.

but seriously, I like the Assassins Creed one. And like bigk said; I think the color scheme has a lot to do with it. Also the background is really cool- I like the textures and effects you used on it. But it makes me wonder how much of it you made yourself and how much you spliced together? Was the blood on the blades you?

Anyways; +1. It's a lot better than the Forsaken World ones IMO. I kind of hate those graphics; everything's too....smooth. Texture adds a lot.

 

Well, I have been using Photoshop on and off for about five years for random urges because I am majoring in Graphic and Multimedia Design for a degree in college. We have not began anything major yet because I have to take a lot of starting courses. So, when I said that I know basically everything about Photoshop, I meant that I know how all of the tools work and the complete layout of it. The statement itself is true. Only because I lack a lot of creativity does not change the fact that if given the proper instructions I can make basically anything. The only reason I mentioned this was in case someone decided they want to give me a lot of tips of how to make better work. If people gave me tips on how to make the images better, then I would really appreciate it and would understand what they are trying to say to me. It saves a lot of time because now they can assume I will understand the instructions they give me.

not to be a hatter but they say comic sans is the most hatted font in a designers world. so just dont use it in any designs

 

Yeah, I never planned on using it for any piece of work. That is a terrible font for normal cases lol. But haters can hate when I use it for forum font =).

I went ahead and made two more this morning, any criticism would be nice. It really helps with me getting better.

 

Sorry if I came off as offensive, that wasnt my intention. but the wording make me laugh. "I know basically everything" and "I know the basics" are two very different statements. [I think "I know the basics of everything" would be right]

but whatever; thats not even worth going into here. This is about the graphics. and I really do like what youve done.

I reaaaally like the 'Goddess" one. Good use of color and placement-especially with the flowers, I like the distribution, it looks very smooth.

I think her hand could be a bit more defined though; and I think the beam would look better if it came from the outside of the circle vs the inside.

I dont know why, but I dont like the naruto one. Perhaps it ignores the rule of thirds

Yeah, I understand. I guess the reason I am attracted to it is because of a lot of traditional signatures I was use to seeing back a few years ago. It also feels really cluttered to me. So, I will not be keeping it as my main signature for very long. It is the one I am the most attracted to for the meantime though. Hopefully I can make a better one soon.

Do you possibly know how people are making those 3D name signatures? I am assuming that they are using a mixture of programs. I want to try making one, but I am not sure where to start.

 

As far as logo's like Zippy's - from what I gather - they're made in "Cinema 4D", then imported into photoshop for touch ups and some effects. But I suspect that photoshop isnt the best for effects; I'd advise you to teach yourself how to use After Effects; I've been meaning to, I just dont have the time. @.@'

 

Thanks for the information. I will be downloading it sometime today. Those signatures look really amazing and I might be able to find a guide on youtube for the program.

 

These are my first two attempts for you man. I really don't like a lot of different parts in both of them. Tomorrow I will try again. Sorry if it is taking a lot of time, I keep getting a ton of different ideas while trying to make one for you. It is more difficult than it seems to put that into action.
