Need help figuring out title. Movie about a gay musician (pianist)

The movie is about a man in love with another man who is a musician and goes off to help an older musician write music. This guy ends up commiting suicide at the end (I don't remember why).

It was a good movie, I thought it was Ben Whishaw who played in it but I guess not. It's someone that looks like him though.
