[REWARD] New Build Will NOT Turn ON

Offering $10 paypal to who can ever solve this problem. Just got the parts today put it together and it won't turn on. I know the psu is fine because I tested it in my old computer the other day and it worked fine. The psu fan doesn't start spinning, nothing. I switched the gpu from the bottom pci slot to the top pci express 3.0 and that wasn't it .I only have 1 cable from the front panel not plug in and it's labeled ac, 97 (Can't find it on my mobo) If you'd like to talk on msn , thanks.

First off the AC97 is an audio cable probably to your front 3.5mm jack on your case.

Second off, I know it sounds simple, but have you switched the power switch on the back of the power supply?

If you test the powersupply again, and it works fine, just not in your newbuild the problem will lie in the motherboard. You will need to RMA that, and get a new one.

Also I looked up your motherboard and it has ac 97 support, you just have to find it on the board, look in the booklet it came with, that will show you were it is.

Also, make sure you have all your connections to your motherboard hooked up right, sometimes you can hook them up wrong and it wont turn on.

Another problem, although less likely is that the powerbutton on your case is broken, or is not hooked up right.

 

Yes I have made sure the switch is on tried it both ways just to make sure I wasn't durpin. I guess ill take out the psu and put it in my other build. Will suck if I have to replace the motherboard -.-

From my edit to my other post in case you didn't see after I changed it, sorry.

 

I just through together my old build real quick half assed without bolting the psu in and it power up the mights out my mobo but the computer itself isn't start which isn't a surprise as it's been screwing up. Every screw hole on the mobo has a screw in it so i don't think that's the problem? Idfk what to do this is a pain makes me wish i just bought a prebuilt this time lol

 

Make sure the ram is in all the way and in the right slots. Then just unplug everything except what's need and see if it works. When I built my computer it wouldn't work at all and it was because the USBs from my front panel were plugged in in the wrong order or something. I just unplugged them all and it worked. Might be something like that.

 

No none of that should make a difference.
Did you recieve a motherboard speaker when you bought anything? Should look like this-


If so, that will be the next step is to try to turn it on with that in, even though I don't think it will make a difference as none of the computer is getting power, and the fans and such aren't spinning.

I would look through the motherboard manual and see if all the connections are connected right also.

 

That could very well be it, it does have two usb ports on the front panel, I'll put the psu back in and try that.

@justin I just plugged the speaker into what I believe is the write place. Like i said putting the psu back in.

 

None of the lights even light up, right (like the leds on the motherboard)?

 

If nothing lights up, and everything is connected right the only explanation is a dead motherboard, sorry.

Definitely the motherboard then. The computer would turn on and the fans would spin if it was anything else, and you proved the power supply works. Sorry man, even though hopefully RMAing it should be an easy process.

 

Giving them a call hopefully they will send me one and I won't have to wait till they get mine back.

I am downloading you motherboards manual right now to see if I can read anything from their that may be worthwhile.
Look for the connector on your motherboard that says f_audio, that is where you connect the AC'97 cable

 

Well they are rma'ing that but won't send me one till they receive it ect. So i'll just 1 day ship one tonight and i'll get it on Thursday. Think I should order the same one or look for a different one lol?

 

That motherboard looks fine, dead boards happen from time to time, really no way to prevent them unless they go through every board.

When you get the board, and want the front audio, plug the ac'97 cable into the f_audio plug, and then flip to page 90 in your manual and it will tell you how to activate it.

 

isn't that the port that hd audio plugs into it? hd audio and ac,97 are connected then split at the very end so I was thinking you just use one or the other?

 

Yes you can use one or the other, if you have one that says hd audio use that.

 

Just 1 day shipped another one, times to wait again lol.
