Help Please.

well i bought an account when i was at my friends place via paypal, i changed the password i tottally forgot what i changed it too, i put recoveries and registered an email address on the account. i couldnt guess the password 50 attempts later i finally got it and now its locked.. the guy i bought it off was from USA and im in AUS any help what i do, (it has never have recoveries before and only 1 password) so im hoping it will go through? :'(

 

Have you tried messaging the guy you bought it from? If he's a legit seller, ask him to recover the account for you. Best of luck. I believe you can also recover directly via email.

 

you can recover an account that has never had recoverys before. if you go to on the runescape website if you have not already and on the front page click on account management, scroll all the way down to recover account on the runescape website and do that.

Tbh, all jagex looks for is the first pass and membership pin. if you are not 100% sure write a story about how it got locked make some crap up (my brother tried to guess my password) it worked for me in a similar case.

the account should be unlocked within 24 hour if given the proof of ownership. also what i did was i selected the option that i moved houses recently (the month i first logged on to it)

 

try contact the buyer to see if he knows other information about the account. Sounds like he tried to recover it, while u tried to, thus ended up being locked.

 

he might of being attempting to recover the account; resulting in it getting locked

Just a possibility and it seems more likely as im sure incorrect passwords dont result in accounts being locked

* Email him
* Wait for reply
* If no reply after a few days take screenshots, report him under scammer section for stolen account and say he's not willing to co-operate in helping get the account back

 

thanks guys, i also read some where if your ip changes rapidly from 1 side of the world to the other and i set recovs and email straight away they might lock it? i dont think he has tried to recover it because the password i set still works and he is a fairly trusted member... maybe its because i tried to recover it once already and they declined and it was from my ip in (AUS) idk.?

i also set my email address on there and the only emails *attempted recovery* was by me so i think its my fault for forgetting the password :doh: but i sent a him a pm anyways.

 

Probably a mixture of both things, i imagine... if you cant unlock it. ask him to.
