[APPROVED] Allowing DNT to Participate in the Community Events

Support, would help people to pay their debts and get more people to participate in events.

 

in my opinion this would make them be more inclined to cheat like @moutoun / @Naughty did, for repayment money.

now if they want to make their own event then sure i dont see a problem with that.

 

I think of these events as a benefit to being a member in good standing as there are monetary rewards.

If someone wants to pardon, repayment should come from the offenders pocket, not from getting lucky in an event.

If you're DNT (Do not trade) that should apply directly to community prize event money being traded to you for winning.

I think most people who end up with a DNT should just be banned anyways, unless they're a highly respectable member of the community and a bit of money is owed from a bad trade.

DNT should not able to trade, even for prize money.

They were not originally meant to be excluded. Staff or CDT at some point stopped them from participating. I glanced at the others commenting and to be frank - I don't care where the money comes from whether the DNT member gets it from a Sythe event or mugging a hobo as long as that DNT users victims end up with the money in the end. Also will boost event activity.

1) Scam 300$ like a scumbag
2) Repeatedly spam CDT events and pretend to 'repent'
3) Win back 300$ and use that to pardon
4) Keep the scammed 300$
5) ??? PROFIT

So you're telling me its alright for the scammer to have profitted say, 1b OSRS gp, KEEP IT TO HIMSELF then get un-DNT'd without needing to pay back anything because he got lucky? Zero support. Now if you allow DNT'd users to participate with zero rewards and solely to encourage em to rejoin the community out of their own pockets for the sake of their friends/business opportunities then this I'd support

 

Thought they were allowed if they pmed a cdt member and got permission? Anyways I support. If I was a scam victim I would want my money refunded ASAP, doesn’t matter if it came from his pocket or from his winnings in a community event. I feel like returning money to the scam victim should be the highest priority. Staff can decide whether they are sincere and feel remorseful for scamming or not and can vote on their pardon. Just because you return somebodies money your pardon is automatically accepted.

 

No. There’s ramifications to the actions these users take. They are already blessed with a DNT, they got their “freebie” from the community already. Regardless, consider it like a simple background check.. some places don’t hire/interact with felons and they must carry that burden for the entirety of their stay. Saying they should be given a privilege is ignoring the fact they already got one.

 

So if I evade $300 worth of taxes, work a job and gain $300 then pay off those taxes later than what they intended = I profit $300? You act like you can only profit from community events if you have a debt to pay.

Support as @BlackBlasses brought up a very solid point here:

I understand both stances on this, however at the same time (re-iterating some previously mentioned points) if prizes are going towards community repayment, then I see no issue here. The DNT rank is specifically meant to allow users to re-enter the community until they've finished off paying their debt, and/or successfully pardon. Now whether you're for DNT's/against them is a completely different debate, but if a user is putting a lot of effort into placing for an event knowing that the money is going to community repayment until his/her debt is paid off, then that says something to me. At the end of the day it's a win-win suggestion imo.

 

@King would this reduce the amount they still owned the community? If they are trying to pardon and owe money.
