Require Pokemon Go accounts be noted as botted/unbotted

Yeah, sure, but people who are powerleveling accounts are likely having it set to 150km/hr+.

I really just don't see the downside in this? It just adds to market transparency and protects buyers from having mislead information.

The discussion is beginning to stray off of the original purpose.

 

Ok so I'm looking over everything in the news and blogs about cheating/spoofing/botting and it seems that if soft bans are the only thing theyre doing and its only temp for a couple hours then maybe just issue a sticky laying this out in the market and let users know to trade at their own risk. Once permabans and such are shown to be in existence etc then update the policy based on the situation at that time. @Admires thanks for the good points you made

As pet topic: As of now, no. I changed my mind based on facts. In the future once its all clear how this system works etc, then yes.

 

I just assume every account in that subsection = botted. lol

 

I mean, I guess it can be implemented, but I don't see the point. Every account in that section is botted (at least 99%), and as of now there are no permanent bans so we literally know nothing of the policy.

 

Only bans I heard of were GPS spoofing related, and those only lasted a few hours. I don't think it matters right now if the accounts are botted or not because there aren't any credible reports of players being permanently banned for using a bot. I'm all for making a sticky when punishments for botting becomes a thing.

 

It's be nice to see a sticky as well atm spelling out the whole "buy at your own risk" in case they do decide to do a ban wave or whatnot and why they shouldnt post a report on someone for selling an account that gets banned etc. That way you have something to direct the reporter to if ever needed. Just my opinion

 

Kiro is making a sticky soon. We don't require this for RS accounts, we don't require this for other games. And really, it's impossible to prove that a user has sold a botted account if they deny it. IF they sold it and it's banned a few days later for botting, there isn't really a definitive way to prove one party or the other botted it (unless a similar scenario happens multiple times to the same seller).

I will continue to do my research on this and flag down any citable sources for you. I do know for the record, that my google accounts were disabled for violation of TOS while using SythePoke. 3 times. and they were verified accounts that had only ever used pkgo and nothing else. For the record that is.

 

No support considering 99% if not 100% are botted anyway if it's from a proper shop.

I doubt more than 1% of ordinary people spend all day doing bonus cardio to train up multiple pokemon GO accounts.

Not protecting myself here, if a customer experienced issues with an account I sold them within a realistic amount of time I'd give them a hassle free full refund. As I'm sure most other sellers would too considering most of us have the facilities to create hundreds of these accounts daily.

It should be noted that the ones which are more likely to get banned are the idiots teleporting all over the world to catch rare pokemon. I've not done this since day one and not had a single account out of the 600 or so I've made banned yet.

I don't think it should be required but any smart buyer should ask questions such as if the account is botted or not.

 

No support. It is up to the buyer to confirm that accounts are not botted. If they don't ask we have no reason to tell them however if they do ask and you lie I believe that is where there should be action taken. All of my PoGo accounts are botted I'll be straight up and buyers should assume the same for everyone else.

 

If you see any level 20 account being sold for less than $20 you can safely assume it's botted. Normally I would have supported this but Niantic doesn't take their game seriously and hasn't banned a single person for botting yet

 

If someone cares about whether the account was botted or not, they should just ask the seller if the seller doesn't specify. Furthermore, it's not like people couldn't just lie anyway, so it doesn't guarantee anything.
