[Approved] Require LoL sellers to specify if their accounts are botted or not

Whether this is in the title or it's flashy enough to see in the main thread - I feel like this should be almost a no-brainer change. Some might disagree though, lol.

Currently, there is only a simple warning thread pinned in the LoL Accounts and Name Sales subforum - a warning that most level 30 accounts that are sold cheap are botted, or that a lot of lv30s in general are. However, people don't tend to often read pinned threads (or like me you miss them), and even more people tend to be VERY naive and sometimes a bit foolish, thinking "oh, there's no chance my precious account I put 200 skins on could be banned for botting". Well, if you bought it for 5.99$.... it most likely is. And very few botted accounts actually slip through the cracks that long above platinum or around that much playtime.

A lot of people actually don't know this, and because these accounts are advertised as "Guaranteed 100% No Ban Rate 1 Month Warranty" or whatever it's kinda fucked up the market for level 30 accounts in general and the price is a bit deflated. It's not common for people to lie about accounts being handlevelled, but I HAVE seen it before on this market. It's kind of easy to tell if accounts are botted, though.

I also believe it should be required to denote if you are the OO of the account and provide recovery information just like OSRS kinds of deals (assuming you are OO), not necessarily required on that last part but OOs should be ready to help recover accounts if they are suddenly locked, especially if it's a big ticket sale or if it's shortly after the trade is done.

Just figured I'd make this suggestion since it's in about every selling discord I've been in bar like... maybe one lol.

tl;dr it's scummy to not outright say if your accounts are botted or not. Be honest and upfront with it. You'll probably get more buyers that way.

No harm in adding to the rules that you need to disclose if an account is botted or not. Similarly, no harm adding in that you must state if you're the OO or not.

Most websites and power-sellers state quite clearly if an account is botted/hand-levelled, to be fair. The above mainly applies to one-of sellers.

 

Yeah, this is more of my point. It's a no harm thing really, but it also helps prevent people trying to intentionally avoid disclosing that kind of information. Now if it's put in the rules they have to outright claim one or the other... and can be punished for lying about it.

You're absolutely right, it's mostly one-off sellers. This rule I propose I think would just help improve safe trading. There are a few big sellers that are a bit in a grey area but if they come out and say "hey I bot" there's no big deal.

To us that actively play the game or really know the accounts themselves they might be easy to spot and point out but not a lot of people can say the same if they're just looking to buy a smurf account and are new to the black market. I just wanna make sure they don't get something they don't want to deal with the repercussions of later! I've had friends lose rare as fuck names from putting them on accounts they didn't know were botted, one was from here. One of the names was also a rare name of mine that I sold to a friend for very cheap and I honestly wanted to cry lmao.

The same applies with showing proof of things, @Tony you should be more on top of this considering you target my threads constantly.

 

Support, Users should be able to decide if they want a cheap Botted level 30 or a slightly higher priced level 30 that hasn't been botted and be allowed to make that informed decision.

 

I absolutely agree with this. It should also be recommended that a warranty/no refund policy be immediately laid out prior to selling an account. From past experience this can cause a giant god damn headache.
