    Math Homework Help - URGENT

Got a major assignment for my Maths B class due tomorrow, and it is a major part of my grade. I need help with this question and I've got major brain freeze.

If you can help with a full equation breakdown and possibly the graph, I will give you major love for a long time.

    Question:

    A polynomial of the form f(x) = -(x-a)(x+b)(x-c) passes through the points (-3,24), (-1,8) and (3,0). Find a, b and c and hence graph f(x).

I need this pretty quickly, so if you have the answer, don't hesitate to type it up for me. Thanks.

    Try drawing the graphs maybe?

It looks like a quadratic fonction to me.

Drawing out the graphs doesn't do anything for me, because it is only telling me points where it passes through.

    Factorize your polynome.

    Try to make it look like F(x) = ax2 + bx + c

What grade are you in? Have you ever learned with F(x)= Sinx or F(x)= Cos(x) is?

I have, but I've been away on a 6 week stint at work and it's all flown out the window. I'm pretty much back to basics learning at the moment, but for tomorrow, I'd need a miracle to understand this equation myself.

It's been awhile, I'd have to get my old math books out lol. I'm pretty sure it has to do with a parabola.

You have to factorize the equation first.

I don't think its a quadratic, it has 3 x values multiplied together, thats a cubic. so it should be in some form of x^3+x^2+x+c

If i remember right c is the vertical shift
    x is the horizontal
    x^2 is dilation and
i forget what the cubed bit is.

Sorry it's not much help but thats all i can think of atm.
