Blues sold me expired Twitch Prime codes! Video proof!

Explanation of the trade: Blues agrees to meet me on W316 at Lumbridge on his account, itsBowds (which is confirmed via PMing over Sythe).

How they scammed: Took my money, sent me a code that had expired.

Proof that it's their Skype: Transaction happened via Sythe messages, all in video.

Skype profile ID & conversation pictures: Video proof.

Other relevant trade screenshots: Video proof.

I gave him plenty of opportunity to refund me but he wont respond even though hes online, goes from responding instantly to not at all. He thought he could get away with scamming me because I'm a newbie.

Just want to give my 2 cents here to help out all parties, he likely didn't know that these codes expired, sadly they do have a shelf life which just passed recently.

@jrbonneau should definitely get a refund. Sucks cuz the guy selling it probably didn't know they expire and didn't mean to scam (I'd like to think).

But yeah anyone advertising selling these now should be infracted because they're all invalidated even if the codes were never used.

I bought a few from a guy on Ebay and they didn't work and got refunded, so speaking from experience unfortunately.

Yeah I know, I'm giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, he might have assumed you were trying to pull a fast one on him (Ie redeem and then say it was invalid).

It was actually a pain to find out when these things expired. Think I saw some random reddit comment confirming they do indeed expire. Sucks. Jagex should not have invalidated unused codes, but that's up to them I guess.

Oh wow, that is weird, I could have sworn a Jmod response I saw on reddit said June 6th or 7th, maybe the guy selling to me on Ebay accidentally sent redeemed codes - since it was an auction with more than 10 of them for sale. That must have been what happened. Disregard what I said then, guy must have scammed, sorry @jrbonneau . On the bright side, you still have some time to get a real one. I recommend Ebay if you haven't looked, I got one over there for $1.25. I didn't bother asking for a different code because I thought they were expired. Guess that post was wrong. I've gotten VALID codes for that cheap though, so try your hand over there maybe, buyers are protected too.

They'll ban him if guilty, I just wanted to let staff know those things do expire and should be removed from the sales pages in the coming days. Sorry you didn't get your stuff man. I'll butt out of this thread now.

Hope you get it resolved. And again, if you really really want a Twitch Prime code before they do actually expire, try there if you don't have luck here with another seller. Good luck

 

I've placed a DNT on him for now which doesn't allow him to trade (basically a ban) but allows him to post on this thread with his side of the story and/or give you a new code.

Would like to say I bought this from @Golds via MMOEarn - I had no idea that it wasn't going to work and was asleep. If your willing to remove this non market user thing I'll happily refund him. Let me know as I donated 50$ and wouldn't throw that away over 2M

 

Also @jrbonneau you haven't been scammed. I really wouldn't scam anyone ever. Let alone 2$ worth of gold
