Bots and IP Addresses

Hello all!

I have one last question before I fire up these newly downloaded bot scripts for the first time.

First things first, I would greatly prefer my Main account of 7+ years to remain entirely unbanned, so botting on it is not an option.

What I wanted to know is, if I use a botting client, what do you guys do about your IP address?

Whenever I log into Runescape, it always tells me the External IP address that I'm accessing their servers from.

Now, it stands to reason that, if I make a lever 3 scrub account and it gets banned for botting, Jagex would probably look up what other accounts have been logged in from that IP address and possibly take action against them.

It is due to this reasoning, I come to you more experienced bot users. What do you do about this?

Do you use a proxy, which I would assume to be exceedingly slow?

Do you use another program to spoof your external IP?

Maybe another method?

Or are just so ballsy that you use the same IP address for your bot(s) and your Main?

P.S. If you've never been banned, and you just use the same IP address for everything, then telling me that wouldn't be of much help as that situation revolves around the quality of your bot scripts.

I'm just going under the assumption that I will be banned at least once before I learn the ropes, and I just want to take all cautionary measures possible to ensure the safety of my Main Account.

 

Jagex won't ban or do anything to your other accounts, just the one you botted on
