Computer Help...Please help me :(

Well I have a computer with info I need to get off, but it only boots to the startup page and after I enter my boot up password it just says it's missing some stuff.

How do I get the files? BTW it's running vista.

 

What does it say exactly.

Also try windows onecare demo. It's basically the full version for like 3 months only.

 

HD could be corrupt.

Your BIOS may have got fucked, try updating BIOS, idk how tho

 

You could boot in to a Linux LiveCD and copy the information to external media (e.g. portable hard drive, USB flash drive etc).

 

Make sure Bios Batery isn't dead. If you got a installation disk with it then just reformat or repair through desk.

 

If I reformat it, I'll lose my info

 

If it isn't child porn or the such, bring it to a professional, that's what I had to do when I accidentally downgraded my BIOS p) they fixed it and my computer had everything back, but it took approxamately a week.

 

Be sure to scan the virusses,maybe then we come any further.

Try recovering it, if you can. I cant imagine the BIOS battery being dead, unless your computer is old as the dirt underneath my house.
