Reasoning:
Whilst working at MG, I paid $676 in Bitcoin. $650 of it was for the website and the rest of it was a middleman fee handed to video.

When I reported Mentarley for his shady activities, the partnership was ended. However, there is still to this day $650 being held by the middleman for the website. Since I was put in charge of the original contract, I agreed to take what Edwin had already done as I felt bad retracting a payment for something he put time and effort into.

Edwin now seems to want to try and circumvent the Middleman and try to get payment when the final product has not been received. He told me on Discord that he wouldn't give me the website code until the Middleman released the funds. I told him that wasn't going to happen since he could potentially blackmail me into paying more for the website as he would have received the money without me receiving the product.

I have given him over 24 hours to respond, and considering he was on earlier today and didn't respond, it appears he is trying to take advantage of the situation and is trying to hold funds hostage.

The options I feel are fair:

1) Edwin can hand over the code for the website and the funds can be released from @video to Edwin
2) I get a full refund of $650 from video (cause middleman fees are non-refundable)

I am looking for a staff member to decide what to do here. I've put my two options above. It seems he is trying to circumvent a middleman which I am not going to let happen.

 

Well the other option is you send me the other half of payment and Edwin continues his work on the site. Is that agreeable with the both of you? @Management @Edwin Flataunet

 

I would be more than happy to do that however, I don't want it to come to the stage in which he completes the website and then demands 100% of the payment before he releases the website code/final product to me otherwise he could just demand more money/blackmail me.

I asked him what he wanted to do, he has been online discord since (with Do Not Disturb mode on) and he's not giving me any replies. I wanted to give him an opportunity to reply and attempt to resolve this with him first however it is almost 48 hours away and I've not received a single reply:

I put up this report as it seems like he is attempting to stall the deal in attempts to hold the funds for the website hostage.

 

Regardless of what he says, I won't send him any money without your approval. I'll give him a chance to reply here as well

 

Hi just saw that this, i wrote to you on Discord today @Management, had a busy week with my company so was not active.

 

Let's continue this discussion on discord to finish the project.

 

I've decided to reply to this report, to say that I'm officially no longer going to be working with Edwin anymore for the site. This does not mean he's entitled to my money.

I've done this for the following reason. Edwin was given until the 5th of August to finish the website. I made this report on the 12th of August. As you can see in previous messages, Edwin was not done by the 5th of August which ALREADY meant he was in violation of his contract (proof here):



I have made attempts to contact Edwin and have given him an opportunity to fix the situation, however since he has not fixed the situation and I have not been provided with the finished project, this contract is now void. I was extremely lenient with him despite the fact that he had already violated the contract at the time of the report however he has not fixed the issue:



I have been trying to communicate with Edwin throughout the entire project but due to his lack of communication, I am not prepared to wait even more days/weeks for him to fix it. I'm sorry it had to come to this but the website has been far delayed especially since he only had to do 50% of the website and he is not even capable of giving me 50% of the final product.

I've attached proof in a deleted post of the website not working (this is put in a deleted post, I don't want to give the URL away of it just yet because the website isn't finished). I've also attached proof that it is the same website that is in fact the same website that the final product had to be transferred to.

Also, just in case Edwin wants to say he's entitled to the money because he uploaded the files, that's irrelevant. I received a broken website (which mods/admins can see in the deleted post). As far as I'm concerned, I have just received a website with an error message that shows when you try to go to it.

 

This website was meant to be started on June 19th, it's almost 3 months and all I have to show for it is a broken website? That seems pretty ridiculous don't you think?

I understand, people have personal lives and are busy, but if he wasn't able to complete it in a reasonable period of time, why even bother agreeing to do a website when he full well knew his personal circumstances and knew that creating a website was going to take him a ridiculously long period of time. Had I known this from the start, I would have opted to choose someone else.

 

Edwin has agreed to refund Management (which I have done) so this is resolved
