Scammers were banned, but took too long

Currently there are 4 pages of open reports, the oldest one dates back to 10+ days ago. My last report was made 4 days ago and hasn't been replied. The funny thing is that the scammer is banned today, I guess for some odd reasons.

I mean apparently we have more than one globals but why is Skele being the only person who handles the reports. I'm sure it gets boring, I'd hate to read those sad stories all the time. My suggestion is to get another mod to review the reports and only leave the hard ones for Skele. One mod is just not enough. What do you think :idea: ?

 

This is ridiculous. As a member and shop owner, I believe the lack of dealtings with scammers is allowing us to become vulnerable in many ways.

 

I do agree that some other moderators should step up and at least try and tackle some Scam Reports. Remember though that staff members do have other things to do. They're here to help us, and they're doing it for free.

 

Try not to forget the fact that the staff of sythe are not getting payed and are doing this in there own time, they don't want to be sitting the answering reports all day...

I personaly think there should be a Scammer/Spammer Mod to help out and take care of some staff that other mods don't have time to do.

 

We have a lot more globals than sectionals. Some of them should tackle the scam reports. They shouldn't be left open for more than a week, tbh.

 

Actually, we have 7 Globals and 12 sectionals. I'm sure the staff will change that soon.

 

You have to understand scam reports can only be handled by a global or greater. Globals have been crippled lately with people leaving.
Verts - Promoted to Admin
Megamatt - Resigned to sectional.
Blupig - Temporary resignation
Alteranz - Temporary resignation
Tyro - Resignation

And other than Spyike's promotion, nothing has been done to reinforce numbers. Please be patient.

 

Well iv'e repoted someone with full msn log's 100% proof you dont need anything mroe to ban him i mean if you just read the first 2 pages you know why
And i posted my report 11 Days ago. Still No Reply i dont think the staff have even looked at it yet

Edit: Mods are busy and you can't expect them to do super-natural things.
although asigning more (active) mods would be a good idea.
getting rid of the old non-active ones *cough Cough r2pleasent Cough Cough* I see mods of wich i have never heard/seen them handle a single report.
Hands down for spyike, firez and skele(master).
as those are currently the ones most active.

 

I'm not sure how they pick Globals or sectionals from sythe but they do seem to need a few more, maybe a few sectional scam mod's who only do reports.

If there were like 2/3 Scam sectional mods I think it would help immensely.

If it wasn't for skele/spyike The section would be dead, I think more globals need to step in a bit.

 

In all honesty, I'm not very active in Report a Scammer section as I wish to catch them sooner. As for activity, Skele is indeed the hero IMO. Lastly, even the new sectionals support the effort here also. If I may add, if members would capture and present solid proof it would make our job much easier.. Sometimes, I'll spend over an hour attempting to support a ban for a $5 scam..

I'm sure that whatever I say will not be enough to justify the issue presented, however everyone needs to understand we pretty much give up all our ingame time and other activities to support Sythe. Sorry, but it is what it is. We will try harder..

 

Stickys are there for a reason, if people are ignoring them and not posting proper proof just lock the thread.

 

Spyike you have done a fantastic job catching vaders and self-vouchers, I just reckon Skele needs some help with the scammer reports.

 

Easier said than done.. Take some time and review the reports and then perhaps you'll understand why we spend hours attempting to figure them out. On one hand, yes we could just lock it and let it go.. On the other, we accept the responsibility to work the facts we have till we get to the bottom of the issue. Spam reports.. less than a minute max. Scam Reports.. can take hours/days. They honestly make me tired which is why Skele is the man for this section.

 

Basically, we need more Globals.
I know you aren't suppossed to say "not enough mods omg!", but with the recent resignations and promotions, there are only 7 globals, some of which are do not have the capability to accurately complete scam reports or do not want to.

On the good side, a few globals are coming back soon.

 

Guys these reports take 5 minutes - 1 week each to complete.

I try to knock out 99% of the vader reports and check to see if members are already banned so skele can skip those and concentrate on the untouched reports.

Also of those 4 pages quite a few of those threads are locked but just havent been archived yet.

I'm like spiyke, just learning and studying scam reports so maybe one day I can fully help Skele in that section to my full ability.

 

They usually aren't a problem, but school work has been overwhelming me this week. I'll clear them out by Friday. I promise.

 

You shouldn't have to take that whole responsibility to clear all of them out.

 

Skele you do a great job, but that seems overwhelming. You DO need help. Try to convince Sythe to do some promotions.
