i like this a lot, it's a nice idea to add and give people who have been scammed a little something back, i like these alot!

Support as fuck I love this idea. (not just because I was scammed for 30$ by neres ok)

It's a nice way to get a little incentive out of donating to the site, and I'd love this to be implemented so long as people don't put it in their titles (you should not be able to put donor in any way in your title lmao). Cos scammers can just rejoin, donate a bit, and use that to gain traction egh.

I also had no idea this was a thing. Miniranks should be non-tradable. I do not want fun ranks added for this, though. FR are super rare as is, and if anything a veteran system should be added for fun ranks, but that's for a separate suggestion thread.

Support minirank threshold system for repayment donations.

as much as I like the idea... I can't see this being approved as it would be direct competition to Richard in some ways.. as it may take donations from him....and at the end of day sythe is a business not a charity...

keep in mind this is my own opionon not a related staff thing.

sythe.org is pretty much funded by the advertisement banners and donations from users.

I'm not sure about the utility costs, but let's assume they don't change much over the period of a few years.
So money from advertisement + donations have to stay at least on the same level (assuming cost of running sythe.org doesn't go up).
Sythe has suggested in the past (not exactly in those words) that we are good for now, but we can observe a long term declining trend in donations. If the income line and outcome line converges, then we might get to the point where it's no longer viable to run sythe.org.

One could argue that people donating to the repayment fund wouldn't donate their money to sythe anyways and that it's extra money that goes to the repayment fund and it has no impact on the amount of money they would normally donate to sythe and they would be right in most cases, but even 5% decline in donations to sythe is too big IMO and having inflated repayment fund wouldn't outweigh the decrease in donations to sythe.
If sythe.org isn't profitable it will eventually shut down. No sythe.org, no repayment fund at all.
It would have to be a great PR move and a good investment in terms of extra users signing up to sythe.org because of a bigger repayment fund, as opposed to our competition, which I think it isn't.

If people wish to donate to the Community Repayment Fund they can do so anonymously. I don't think that there's a need to sort of advertise this option, as opposed to the donation to sythe.org, because they are essential.

Just a last thought - big repayment fund would result in the bigger amount of careless users entering 'too good to be true' trades. If one can get easily refunded from the pocket of a more fortunate user, there would be a decrease in caution when trading.
Community Repayment Fund was a great idea and it is working as it is.
We should focus on prevention, so that we don't need to increase the amount of money flowing through the repayment fund.

This is indeed problematic. I think the best solution for this would be getting more perks for donators. Donator perks are a factor in donating for a lot of people, myself included. Of course I also want to support the website, but adding new perks would help giving more reasons to donate more.

This is of course a tough subject as there have been countless of donator perk suggestions and a lot have been denied for good reasons. Perhaps introducing an event where people will all present their ideas for new perks, and the winner(s) get a certain minirank? Just a thought

I'm going to fight against @Pikachu and @BlackBlasses here as I think people that donate to the CRF deserve to be recognized. And yes I do realize that Richard gets the end all say in this and it could technically be costing him money. Stepping back from that though, someone that wants to help the community of Sythe would help members possibly come back to Sythe again which therefore could create more business for the site. The more traffic the site gets the better in general. I would also argue that someone that were to donate towards the CRF wouldn't necessarily donate to the site itself, and that arguing that they may would be selfish.

As for @Gen

We could simply do a simple "$X CRF" short for Community Repayment Fund, which keeps it short and simple and it's a small token of appreciation. The icons that @David used were quite great too personally!
