[APPROVED]Remove the update about the vouching / bumping system

How is that not fair ? big users earned and maintain their reputation to get countless vouches from their many transaction. Everyone up till now made their name and no one was spoon fed "equal exposure", so just because smaller users like yourself can't keep up it's the bigger market user's fault?

 

Most of scams like this happens on services like powerleveling / questing not really on gold sales and they get scammed because they simply go to first guy who offer cheapest service.

So even if they woud readd vouch bumping and reliable / trusted service providers woud be on top that woud change completly nothing because newcomers woud still go to cheapest service provider and eventualy get scammed.

 

Big users earned reputation, vouches, have returning customers, they still get more orders from newcomer customers I believe, cus now just very few people message me, and almost all don't agree with my offers, you can see in my vouches that I got so low of them during all time and my almost 1000bumps in all threads. Moreover big users can ask for a bigger price and most of customers would agree because they are paying for reputation also.. It is really hard for users like me to get customers here, so that update should make things better and more equal to all Sythe members. Peace

 

The lack of market knowledge in this thread is appalling, sites dont care about this update because they have good SEO and pay for banners and it pushes the people who trade on discords/skype down a peg, @RS Phoenix as for saying it isnt fair that we had customers posting, I just like everyone else started with 0 vouches, now 2000+, everyone has equal opportunity, if you work hard you will reap what you sow, if you want to be at the top all the time, work your ass off like the rest of us did

Couldn't agree more with this. Indeed people who trade via discord or direct communication will only see the negative side of the new update. I don't get however how they not notice that this will give them equal exposure in the threads compared to big sites who were overbumping discord traders anyways.

 

Everything spoon fed? Lol it is pretty much same grinding now to get all vouches and returning customers, just threads will stay more often in first page which means a bit more customers, that's all.

 

You are right but gold scams have a tendency to be BIGGER in wealth lost than questing/skilling threads and the rule is over ALL THREADS.

 

The update is good for low-level users, what I'm saying is that is not good for sythe because they lost that traffic income and that will end up affecting all users at the end.

 

This is what I been saying maybe I should point out the bad things separately because not the whole update was bad, If the goal was to combat the abuse of bonus gold/vouch, then BUMP time should have been reduced as it was (4 hours is quite nice) but the referral thing is very important for the forum and it doesn't matter if the traffic was big or small 1/50 staying in a forum and buying from other sellers or service providers as me at least 3 times then quitting forever (Because that is the pattern they follow) is good of the forum overall.

PD: Another even more reduced amount of newcomers stay even more like some of the stories that we have around.

It does indeed make the bigger sites only bigger but the moderation of every vouch on every thread was probably taking up valuable slave hours from the staff. This may make sythe have less people joining but I believe this makes the playing field "even" for the small guy and that massive website. Sythe currently just banned open market discord servers to remove direct competition, this new rule makes it both easier to manage for sythe staff and users. This new rule brings the best of discord selling and brings it directly onto sythe.

As promised, I told you I would comment this when I was unbanned @CryptoGOLD so I will deliver.

Now as someone who originally used to never market until I used Powerbot in July 2012 (keep in mind, I did use bots in ~2009 on their old website too) I have found that coming to other forums and building my name to what it is today was a long but also fun journey,

With that being said there has obviously been many changes of which sometimes I do and do not agree with, this is one I cannot say I do agree with. We are a "open market" this means we do not offer things such as bots and so on in a client based product, like OSBot, Powerbot, Dreambot, Tribot etc. Sythe was built from the bottom via word of mouth and google searches, you was never one to really be able to go onto let's say YouTube and say "YEAH GUYS THIS FORUM IS AMAZING GO SELL YOUR ACCOUNTS THERE!" so this is sort of what feels like a kick in the teeth for those who actually tried or did have a part to play in building the website to what it is today.

I understand a lot of people may use these things, and maybe not everything was intended that way completely either. But what you need to remember is, we do have many discord servers some of which are used for those who actually class Runescape or even other games/businesses on here as their full time jobs, this means the auto bumpers and discord servers for straight contact are perfect to fit this criteria.

Again, traffic that was mentioned, Sythe is word of mouth. A old friend of my younger brothers has moved next door to my house (well his mum has, he is temp living there as he is moving out) and I told him about Sythe and told him if he is interested in the whole boosting/account marketing like he plays he is then he should take a serious look - This is what i mean, he may bring 1 person extra he may bring 50 people extra due to the word of mouth not due to google searches or people finding the website by accident.

I don't mind the 4 hour time limit on bumping from the original 8 hours, although it will cause people to spam a lot more, one thing I didn't agree with was if you're using an autobumper product to be actually online 24/7, this means we would have to overheat our PC's and laptops and such to fit this group of people wanting to actually do this which is just dumb.

I understand there was/is a lot of sythe gold farming due to this situation, of which isn't always a good thing but sythe gold is currently irrelevant really if you think about it due to having no function, if it had something like being able to buy mini ranks or so on with it (actually buy it like you would deposit tokens to a store to buy scripts etc) then I would understand the ball ache on it.


Overall, I am not in agreement with the update, but I also do not dislike it as it just means I have to spend more time bumping my threads, which was originally what we used auto bumpers for...?

 

How about if Sythe gold is obtained whenever someone posts on your vouch thread (which can be used to bump sales threads)? That prevents "vouch hoarding", while still giving an incentive for traders to redirect users to Sythe and providing some sort of reward for frequent traders.

 

Reduced bump timers & sandbox updates are great, but the rest of this update is a joke. Are you seriously saying that if someone posts on the wrong thread, which happens often regardless of if / where you tell them to post, the will just be deleted and they will be infracted? What kind of bullshit is that?

Would you seriously use Sythe if all you saw was "bump" and when you make your very first, clearly well intended post you get a message from a mod telling you to go read the rules?

Nobody likes over-modded communities, and between this change (which indirectly bans negative reviews) & the RaS changes where you aren't even allowed to help people with reports anymore there's clearly no reason to give a shit about trading properly and caring about the newer users.

What has changed since a year ago that makes this change worthwhile?

Also what the fuck is this? Do I really have to stare at Sythe 24/7 in case someone posts in the wrong spot? What if I'm busy or on mobile etc and don't have the time to report a bunch of posts, just having long enough to check DM's? Notifications don't even go through properly.

 

The thing is that none cares about sythe gold, what we care about is the kind of customers that stay here after being referred to vouch in this forum.

 

All of you guys stating how traffic is generated to solidfy/emphasise/backup your arguments/stance, as if it were factual/proven. Yet, none of you actually have any data or actual knowledge relative to how said traffic is generated. Pls stop.
