    Sythe's colors

Hey guys. Keldeo here. still new to GFX.
I'm using gimp and trying to make my background to sythe's colors. I copy and pasted sythes page and used color picker to get the color but it dosent seem to be the EXACT same as sythes background.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Strange that you didn't get the exact same color, I used the color picker in the same manner as you yet I got the exact, spot on, color code. Anyway, what you posted up there doesn't seem to have any mismatching with the forum background that I can tell...

Why don't you just use a transparent background?

Sometimes it's more accurate to use the hex codes instead of importing a file with the color. Check my sticky Zippy linked above. I'm guessing a transparent bg is out of the question? If not then I have the same question as Ryan.

Thanks for the quick response guys.
I have tried a transparent background and it shows up white on sythe when i export from GIMP.

I also saw the stick with the hex color codes before posting this. I looked up online how to enter hex codes on GIMP ( I have never used them before) and I could not find any information of value.

For the Hex color codes you want to go to the color picker tool and in that box there should be a text box where you might see numbers such as: 0000 or letters mixed with numbers. That's where you want to paste in the hex color code. Also, for a transparent bg you want to make sure you can see the checkerboard pattern first then export as a .PNG

If you still have questions ask away!

Yeh I was just about to say this.

It sounds like you are saving it as a JPG which does not support transparency. Make sure to save as PNG as they are higher quality and support transparency.

It seemed to work well saving it as a .PNG file with transparancy thanks!
for some reason when I uploaded it to photobucket it showed up with a white background.

Gif file also supports transparency but is much smaller in file size usually. However the transparency for gif is either the whole pixel is transparent or it's not whereas with an interlaced png you get alpha transparency which allows you to have a pixel not/partly/full transparent
