What are your guys' obsessions? -good or bad-

Other than Runescape obviously, I am completely obsessed with Jewelry, Ties and Suits. Watches fall under that category of Jewelry.

I am currently a Salon Director for a pretty large Salon in Idaho, I love my position and the industry. The women I work with are amazing and the clients we have come in are equally great.

Being in this position requires me to dress nice daily, which isn't a problem because I love to be dressed up, so I have been hoarding suits and jewelry for awhile now; and the collection continues! I have probably spent about 8 grand + over a couple years on suits and Jewelry and I just can't stop.

Brands I absolutely love: Watches: Tissot, Citizen, Micheal Kors, Seiko.

This obsession has become a guilty pleasure to me, because I am online shopping 24/7 (even when I don't have the money for it. -_-)

Fishing. I spend as much time as I can fishing so long as it doesn't interfere with school.

 

It used to be heroin, but now that I'm clean, the only obsession I have is women. It's actually gotten me into a lot of trouble too. It's not sex that I'm obsessed with, but just the attention really. I'm definitely a love and affection addict, but at least it's better than being a drug addict.

 

Not offended, doesn't bother me. I am comfortable with the things I enjoy in life and who I am. Contrary to popular belief I am not gay, just enjoy nice clothes and accessories. Cool! Diving is pretty awesome, I haven't dove often but I have dove in Honduras a couple times.

Nice, never been a gun fan but I have a lot of friends who are. I am the same way about having my life be prim and proper.

That's great, I enjoy fishing from time to time. Just not something I can do ALL the time. Glad you enjoy it though, it's a cool sport/hobby!

I am an recovering addict myself, just got out of prison a little back. Currently 9 months sober. Glad to hear you have cleaned up man, there's nothing wrong with being addicted to affection! Just don't let it become a co-dependancy as us addicts tend to do lol.

 

Always good to meet a fellow addict in recovery. Glad to hear you're clean man. Drug addiction is definitely no joke as I'm sure you know. I spent 3 months in county back in February and another 4 months in rehab. I've relapsed multiple times and I've overdosed twice. It's a miracle that I'm still alive after everything. I was hooked on opiates, benzos, meth, crack on and off for nearly 10 years. It has cost me a lot, but I'm finally starting to get my life together again. I'll admit I'm slightly co-dependent lol. I definitely replaced one addiction for another. I've made the mistake of getting into several relationships with girls in rehab and ended up getting kicked out of 3 of them because of it. I'm finally free though and I've got a girl who isn't an addict and she's very supportive of me, which really helps a lot.

 

That's a cold piece man, where are you from? Yeah at IDOC they had a rehabilitation program; so I was able to get my treatment while out at the yard. We did MRT out at the prison. What program have you been doing in rehab?
Co-dependancy is dangerous my friend, but I know exactly how it is lol. I was the same way in all my relationships -Haven't been in one since I have been out- but I always was co-dependent and into masochistic relationships.
That's one thing you need to be seriously careful of, supplementing addictions are trouble! I too have traded my addiction for a caffeine addiction right now, so I am in no position to tell you to watch out! But watch out! Lol.

I am glad you have found someone who supports you and your way of life. I will let you in on some advice, although I have never been a religious person EVER in my life, I have been attending church weekly. The people there are all positive and great influences with good aspirations. Though I am a lot less involved in the church than they are, it's still uplifting and just an over all positive experience being around them. I highly recommend finding something like that.

 

I'm from Atlanta. Every rehab I've been to has been a 12 step program. Unfortunately I don't feel like I've gotten that much out of it. The only thing that's keeping me clean is the realization that I can't do drugs without killing myself and hurting everyone around me. I'm not that co-dependent. I'm just happier when I have someone around me who gives me affection lol. I didn't give a shit about anyone when I was on drugs and I just used everyone, but now I actually do care about other people, which is both a good and bad thing. I've not a very religious person and it's always been difficult for me to grasp the concept of spirituality. I do believe in a higher power, but there is still always that doubt. I go to NA meetings every once in a while, which helps a little bit. Still though, I've never gotten that much of going to meetings and I feel like overcoming a drug addiction is pretty much all up to me. Support definitely helps, but my sobriety still shouldn't depend on a relationship. I need to be able to stay clean no matter what.

 

Music is my obsession. I am building my instrument collection right now. I have 2 guitars and a banjo, I have had a bass, and another guitar but sold them off to buy better instruments. Also macabre things.

That last two sentences were spot on, the co-dependancy is dangerous because if, for what ever reason, it fell through -you guys' didn't work- then you might just want to relapse. Never a good thing. Keep your chin up man, stay sober for you; not for anyone else. You got this! Surround yourself with positivity.

Nice, that's really amazing. I wish I was musically inclined, I love music; just never had the patience to become well rounded at playing an instrument. That is really cool; tons of guitars and other instruments mounted on the walls would be siiiick. Keep that obsession man, that's a good one.
