Remake Ranks

As you can see, I am a $50 donor, which is cool and all, but if you actually look closely to the rank, the claws look a little off. I am sure this is because that's just how the claws look or whatever, but I personally think they can look a little better.

Also, the $25 rank also looks a little low res, and I also don't see why the $100 rank is a halloween mask (which is basically nothing on the GE) and claws (which are like 300m) are for $50. I think these could be upgraded and possibly change. I am not sure if this is possible but I think that the graphics for these should be a little better, since the graphics for complex figures like pokemon and some funny minis look way nicer and eye catching then a $100 donation rank of a halloween mask.

The $5 rank (whip) also looks kinda old and to me, a crumbled up licorice (would look way better if it was a tent whip)

The $300 rank looks okay IMO, but that shouldn't matter since most people may get it for the custom rank anyway

Also, why is a whip for $5 and a sarasword (700k) for $25? Shouldn't these be switched?

Also, what is the $200 suppose to be? I am not the most knowledgeable rs guy here so i'm sure its related but I have no idea. I would love for the 200 to be a blowpipe or maybe even a AGS..

A halloween mask on rs3 is still worth real money as is the easter egg which is what the $200 rank is. I guess the fact that someone doesn't recognize what the ranks are is a sign that they could use updating. There are all kinds of 07 items that are valuable and more recognizable that we could be using as the ranks and I personally am not opposed to that but it is somewhat of an undertaking to update the ranks. I've added a poll to this thread to gauge interest

 

I don't mind a little remake/update on the ranks as well. I can make them if need be. Voted yes.

 

Agreed, but a Saradomin Sword as a $25 donor rank doesn't seem to match with the other ranks.

On the other hand, I would like to see the legacy ranks be used again for the $25, and $50 donors as the $100 donor rank is a red h'ween mask and the most expensive out of the three.

 

Support. They are definitely outdated and could use a remake.

Possibly we could make it like 2010 but give the user the option to choose the "legacy" rank or the regular rank for those who donated before the launch of the new ranks? Just a thought.

 

Voted yes, would be good to see something fresh, Been looking at them for way to long.

 

I personally would like to see some new updated ranks. We have updated them in the past, and I would love to have a choice between the OG ranks and the current. Keeps things spicy

I personally think all donor ranks should be based on rares. There are plenty of rares and it's enough to cover all the donor ranks in my opinion. I'd love to see to legacy ranks being implemented again instead of using a whip, ss and claws.

The logical way to organize at the moment would be:

$5 rank - Easter Egg*

$25 rank - Either Obnoxious Scythe or Christmas Scythe

$50 rank - Pumpkin

$100 rank - Have the ability to choose between the 3 Hallowe'en Masks

$200 rank - Disk of returning

$300 rank - Half full jug wine

$500 rank - Black Santa hat - Or we can think of something else if we don't want to interfere with the mod rank.

Please note that this is just a general idea on how to organize the ranks, nothing is definitive.

*I know Easter Egg is currently the $200 donor rank and that would imply making a big change, but if we look at the bigger picture here, it would simply just make sense.

I believe a rank reform is something to think about and giving the community the ability to choose the rares for the new donor ranks would be a great idea.

 

I think an update on the rank icons could be used, would be a nice little change, plus some of the rank icons don't really make since like the $500 one for example. Support.

Wasnt there a poll not too long ago about this, which even included examples of the new ranks? Pretty sure there was and the majority on that poll thought the new once were fine.

I like to use 07 ranks, since most people here play 07 or are at least know of all the 07 items..

$5 - tent whip/ regular whip, but remade
$25 - AGS
$50 - Armadyl crossbow or keep claws (or use claws for $200 rank)
$100 -choice of Halloween mask/or maybe even a purple party hat, since it is so iconic (giving the users the choice to choose a red, blue, or green may also set us up for some faction style ranks and an allow to personalize based on their siganture and theme of their account)
$200 - Third age plate body/ DFS / or remake of claws
$300 - ely or custom rank
$500 - Twisted bow

I am using this layout because Whips are iconic but cheap, AGS almost cost $25 lol, ARmadyl Crossbow is just an awesome ranges weapon and makes since at $50, $100 up for debate but I like purple party hat for this one because it's iconic, would prefer 3rd age for $200, ely for $300 because I think the blue ely would really Pop and is also just eye catching and iconic, and obviously twisted for for $500+ since it's so rare and expensive. If not, $500 can actually also be something like a onyx stone (I know it's like 3m but it would look bad ass to have black diamond like stone for a rank) or even an ancient staff or the "vengeance" skull

 

Could maybe use platinum chips for a rank, since they typically signify a decent amount of gold.

Considering this has a 85% majority I'm going to go ahead and guess that the community feels fairly strongly about the ranks being remade @video especially with 40+ votes on the poll already.
