Another RWT question, sorry

Hi guys,

I just got back to Runescape after being absent for a little more than a year.

I used to buy mills for bonds every now and then, never more than 100m ish. When I returned to the game, I read about Jagex their new strategy regarding rwt and now I'm wondering if it's still safe to buy low amounts of mills (like 100-200m).

I believe the strat is buy from a real player instead of a reseller (or at least a low volume seller with a high level account).

I've sold 100B+ last month and no ban for me or my customers. I do it by selling from maxed mains that I actually play on.

 

Jagex has increased ban rates significantly. There are lots of people being banned for buying [not selling], which used to never occur. You will be taking a risk by buying.

 

Their system cannot detect everything, so you should be okay with small amounts, but the overall number of bans has increased, resulting in higher risk when dealing with GP.

 

If you do small amounts and trades on high total level accounts i wouldn't be worried

 

Well I'm also a returning player. I bought like 4 to 5b between 2014 to 2016 without any problem, never received a warning or a ban. I bought 300m a month ago; received a warning, and 500m a week ago; received a 70 hour ban... I'm not a new player or anything; been quite active between 2005 and 2016. Guess it's time to quit forever haha.

 

Would advise you not to RWT anymore on that account. The game will always be fun ofcourse, even without RWT. Just have a clean slate from now on i guess

True, and I'm aware this risk was my own stupid fault, haha. I sold all my gold/items back in 2016 so I thought it was a good idea to buy 300m a month ago; I bought one Gold Partyhat for a long time investment. But this item was deleted one week after the purchase (plus a RWT warning). Same happened this week with 500m plus a ban Shit happens, it's not the worst thing that could happen in life haha.

They deleted the Golden Partyhat I bought for 300m, I'm not sure if they deleted my wealth this time, but I don't have a great feeling about it.

 

Dam. Never heard of wealth removal before to be honest. That might be the start of something.

If you think about it: Jagex offers bonds themselves which they earn huge amount of money from, this might mean that they take rwt buying more serious to let players prefer to buy GP the legit way. Interesting.

 

Honestly, I have read a few others wondering about losing GP, and I misspoke saying that Jag wouldn't do that... I guess I need to start telling people that they do take wealth from the account

 

That's painful to read if this is is a new "standard" they use indeed, but I hope I'm the only one with this problem. Maybe just bought at an unlucky moment twice? ( it's a trusted seller tho )

I never thought about that, maybe they are taking the bonds more serious indeed. I hope not, lol.

Personally i am a goldseller and have been selling 100b+ after the warning of jagex. But haven't heard of any other bans of buyers of mine. I guess you are also unlucky. Did you do anything that could have flagged the trade by any chance?

For instance: you did an ip switch such as buying gold on a VPN and not using the ip address that you normally play on? Or did you use an alt for instance?

 

Let's hope I'm the only one indeed, I have never experienced this in the past ( bought like 10m to 999m per trade back then) I wonder if the same happens if I buy gold again from a different seller. I didn't saw or did anything that could triggered a red flag to be honest (at least, what I'm aware of). Same IP, same settings and same computer as always.

 

Strange. The account you bought it from: was it a low level or a high level account? Who was the seller?

 

Low level players, I bought the gold from Chicks Gold. It was the first time I bought gold from them, but they seem to be legit.

 

ChicksGold sells a huge amount of gold everyday, their accounts are mainly throwaway low level accounts that will get banned often. Hence there is high risk in buying from those websites imo. If you want to play it safer choose some sellers on Sythe who do not trade that much or lesser known websites.

 

Asking for high combat level account is an even better idea before buying from somebody.
