Workers:
○
Workers are not allowed to make their own threads; If you work for a Goldshop (whether they have a website or not), you are NOT allowed to make your own thread in the RS3 Buying/Selling, OSRS Buying/Selling, or swapping sections, UNLESS you have been authorized by staff to do so. PM a moderator to discuss your situation as we treat these circumstances on a case-by-case basis. Breaking this rule will result in a thread lock, and possibly additional consequences for both the worker and employer, as deemed appropriate by staff.

This report has shown that this rule can be manipulated by staff to attempt to get more threads for Shops: chicks veng chloe market abuse : the report

Workers shouldn't be allowed to have there own threads, period, it's unfair on people who are attempting to run there own stores and gives site advantage or edge over smaller and other shops that operate on sythe.

How I suggested the rule should be changed:

(Sorry chicks I know we're friends but somethings just aren't right, This is a loophole that needs to be fixed, and I hope this doesn't affect are freindship)

No support workers should be able to sell their own gold, if they’re abusing this privilege then they should be punished for it as is the ruling. That specific report only shows staff members bumping their own threads not abusing the rule.

Support, staff problem not a rule problem. Staff are equal to everyone else but see over the problems that arise. You should sell through your employer if you need to go above selling gold for them. It really seems like manipulation that people can have their own shop, and also work for a shop. To me it sounds like people who have larger vouches or posts benefit so greatly here, even compared to the gold shops. You can't tell me that people gain rep from working for shops, and run their own gold selling service along side it and that is okay.. sorry not sorry.

No.

Workers have to augment their slave wages somehow.

I wont name names, but the people abusing this rule know exactly what they are doing is wrong, and that this is a loophole that needs to be closed.

Another scenario has been brought to my attention that an individual who has access to livechat has been reading logs to check buying/selling prices of other gold sellers for their own personal gain. Its too easy for them to do; and hard to prove its being done. If this is infact true its more than likely that when a particular site is "full stock" those users with livechat access can contact that seller personally to buy or sell that gold.

The link between livechat workers and the websites they work at IMO is too strong to warrant them working personally on the same websites that their employers have threads on.

But hey im biased as a gold trader myself - but i'd like to see what others have to say about the points i've made.

I actually buy and sell gold on the side, I'm not abusing any loop-hole, and there are genuine people out there also like @Shexy who work for a gold store and buy/sell gold on the side. We shouldn't be limited just because we work for a gold store.

No support.

It’s not really a loophole. For those who work for a website and buy/sell on the side, it sucks to not be able to get decent prices for your gold.

Link a case where it has been abused

Just because we work for a gold site doesn't mean we get some kind of magical "extra". The only people supporting this are biased cause they want the market monopoly purely for themselves. I don't get any "extra's" for my own business by working for a gold site. Both are seperate.

No support.

So if you work for a company that assigns you jobs for graphical design, it’s not okay for you to do work on your own on the side as well? If they mix the two, then it’s not okay (doing freelance work while on the job). But if you keep it separate, there is no issue

Why should you be allowed to work under someone, have their name attached to you and have a shop of your own? I just don't like the basis of 1 person being a part of 2 shops, that is why I don't like it. And for graphics, you personally make the work, you don't make a reputation off of buying something, you make it yourself. I digress though, most people seem to like the idea of people working in the same field that they already work in so leave it be then, i'll change to no support cause of you @Dunworry

In the case of buying/selling gold, it's all the same. You make the repuation off your customer service. You make the reputation yourself.

My main point, however, is if this is abused, then we gave people the opportunity but they messed it up. Websites won't abuse this because it's really not that viable. So long as you're only able to be apart of one website (if you work for a website, you can only do skype sales) then that makes abuse quite difficult and quite inefficient.

I cant wait to open my own thread, this is going to a great monopoly. hmu if you want me to create a gold thread for you for a small free using my rep. oh... and 'my' funds.

no support if that's the case.

Support.

One of the many cases where loopholes are made by staff to give extra benefits to friends.

Sickening.

I see the arguments against this being free market or they wanting to sell their personal gold. How do we know that it’s their personal gold though? We don’t and we shouldnt allow the chance to have corruption. Either ALL workers cant have threads or ALL workers can have threads. (If its really a free market as people on sythe like to say) I dont like that it has to be a staff approved thread cuz no sht they gonna approve their own and their friends’. Whats stopping them from saying no just because its competition though
