    I understand how to do it. no need for further "yeah. that's it." posts.

    Is this how a reflection is done? (duplicated, flipped, gradient masked, played w/ opacity.) ?

    Or you can duplicate it, flip it, play with the opacity, rastersize the layer, then put a nice big soft eraser across the bottom.
