Reduce UT Name Change Time | Add another former name tab next to IP audit

I understand why the UT feature was implemented in the first place. However, is it really necessary to have it there for half a year?

Pretty sure everyone will know that someone like ABM name changed to Pikachu after 3 weeks time or even if you never show it, relatively minor changes like Amyrs1356->Amy would be common sense even without seeing the UT name change thing.

I donated so I can have a fun user title and a pretty cool larger profile picture and fun perks like that. It’s sad that I can’t use it for anything else for half a year.

Even RuneScape’s username change system only dates one month back.

TLDR: Reduce name change UT time from 6 months to something reasonable like 2. Half a year is a freaking long time.

Another suggestion would to have it show somewhere else so donors can use their use titles. Ex) add another tab for previous names like IP audit so it’s permanently attached per user than in one cluster of a thread.

 

Support, I feel it’s pretty useless. Only people that should require a 6 month + ones are pardoned members, just because they have a malicious past.

 

No support. It's fine how it is. No need for people to change identity's every 2 months. 6 months actually isn't that long of a time lol.

There is a public list for people that name change as well, there is no need to display your previous name for 6 months...

I like the idea of the shiny stuff and personally still don't understand how to implement it but hey it's cool and should be more frequently used for those who like to have cosmetic.

Support, a simple name change should require all that wait time. I go by MAGZ everywhere else except for Sythe. When I request a change it’d just look silly to see MAGZ formally known as III MAGZ III.

 

No support, its hard enough tracking people as is, name changes will only further complicate things.

I support this for names changes in the form of "AmyRS1256" to "AmyRS" or "III MAGZ III" to "MAGZ".
Similarly, I changed my name from "iGotOwned480" to "iGotowned".
In my opinion, these aren't full on name changes.

However, I fully support the 6 month window for full on name changes, IE "ABM" to "Pikachu"

 

No support, You also donate for the fun perks but you were also aware of what would happen if you did want the name change. I feel it's been fine the way it is and there's no need for a change

Not every new user knows about this thread, It's easier if we just keep things the way they are.

 

If that's the case i don't support that, the time users have to wait should be equal regardless of minor name change or major for simplicity. I do agree 6 months is long but honestly if its the only drawback of changing your name (not including donator status) i see no reason for it to be changed. Users may be inactive from the forum and not have the knowledge to check the username changes thread as mentioned by veng.

I don't really feel the UT advertisement is necessary at all. A name change history on the profile section should be sufficient.
