    Redbook Audio

So, a lot of old games (late '90s early 00's) store their music on the CD in mixed mode. Means the CD acts like an audio CD and data CD at once, so the game will play with the data, then load the redbook audio when called. Problem is Redbook Audio (the traditional audio CD format) needs an analogue connection from the CD/DVD player to the computer, so modern SATA cables render this unworkable.

I don't want to open up my case and manually install an IDE cable. How can I work around this? Remember WMP can access this Redbook audio even on SATA connected discs when it rips the music, so there must be a way.

Does anyone know a workaround allowing my computer to play the redbook audio when called by the game? I think there may be a program that redirects these calls to WMP, then hijacks the rip function of WMP to simply play the music instead.

    Thanks!
