People with fake phats

I see these cosmetic appearance phats everywhere. I take it they use the keepsake key but I don't get it. Do they use it on a phat they're flipping and attach it to another item or totally waste the phat? They wouldn't waste a bil and a half right??

 

When you keepsake an item you can remove it from the keepsake box later. They just put it there for safe keeping and they can wear it no matter where they go.

 

They can take it out of the keepsake box at any time they want but it will have used up their key. It may also show up as cosmetic when examining someone if they have their privacy setting off which means you cannot view what items they have equipped it will say its cosmetic instead.

 

I've seen this before. Thought it was weird and I am not fond of it.

You can take any items you put in them out later if you wish.
The only exception being Dungeoneering items.
You also cannot keepsake bound items, so if you want to have a primal helm keepsaked you'll have to find one with a keepsake key in your inventory, and use it before the dungeon is done

 

I quite like the examine feature on RS, the amount of cosmetic and lent items you see is unreal. The use of the keepsake, yeah I understand it but is it really that useful. I mean it isn't exactly beneficial , especially when everyone perceives you as some cheap skate with a fake phat.

 

Ahh makes sense, this is some complicated stuff they've added here and there. I totally agree its amazing with all the cosmetic items. To be fair I run around a lot with some cosmetics on but do wear items too xD

 

Also if you have your examine off it looks as if you keepsakes your items.

 

Keepsaked phats same as regular phats lol...i get lent phats r sad but thts it. The point of keepsaking is so u can wear a helmet for something like combat, but still wanna look good with a phat.

 

If someone has a keepsake'd partyhat, it means they currently own a real partyhat. It's just an appearance override.

 

Ahhhh ok didn't know if it was off your items looked keepsaked or that keepsaked items are still in possession.
