Recommended Specs for C4D

What's most important factor to consider when searching for the lowest render times in Cinema 4d? I've read the graphics card is important, but the most important part (for 64-bit systems at least) is the RAM. I'm just curious if this holds to be true, since I might be purchasing a new computer soon, and I'd like to keep space for nice GFX in mind.

Graphic intensive processes in general need lots of ram, my mate who does 3d modelling has a beast of a computer but only 8gb ram which apparently isn't enough (rendering is too slow for him). Ram's pretty cheap now anyway so pick up 12-16gb of it if you want to do lots of 3d work.

 

RAM doesn't have to do alot with Cinema4D, I have 16gb of ram and it doesn't help anything.
What does help alot will be a 8-12-14-16 core, the more cores you have, the faster you will render.
I have an 8 core, going to get 16 next year.

 

Ah good to know. I only have 2 cores on my i3

My 12GB Ram isn't all that great for rendering. Still takes plenty of time.
