Since I changed my e-mail to my own servers and domain I've haven't had any problems with hacks.

Except one time when I was SE'd for my secret question's answer. But I recovered the account in less than 5 minutes and nothing happened!

The advantages of simply having MSN's email hosted off microsoft are awesome. I think this would be a great, cheap way that can be offered to Sythe users to give more security and confidence in trades.

I know @sythe.org e-mails won't happen but a similar domain could do it. For example sythesafe.com who is or was used by some members could be sponsored.

Also, if it was official, or semi-official, there would be 0 impostors! (Take for example, myself, I don't have impostors)

Even if it wasn't official by sythe, I think the administration should recommend the usage of one provider, even if it's hush.

Along with that, I think there should be a TWC rule where trading without giving your MSN/Skype address and refusing to do it via PM or post should warrant it. I'm tired of people who want to scam without giving the scammed user enough evidence to ban them

    Thank you.

I really like the idea of a @sythesafe.com email.

Also I would get rid of any imposters because the emails would be tied to accounts.

Sythesafe.com is an example of a domain already in use. @deroba.org is also an example, but it's not similar to sythe.org, it's just my name contraction.

And yes, the e-mail would be "tied" if it was supported by staff, as they would give out the e-mails, with a secure long password.

I would prevent users from login through website and require them SSL connection from their web client, like Windows Live Mail or Thunderbird(I use it, beast)

Any sort of service (sythesafe) etc will never be as safe as Hushmail(paid subscription version). With Sythesafe, a corrupt user could manually hack accounts or the domain could be hacked a lot easier. I definitely recommend Hush.com emails with a paid subscription. The free service eventually opens your email to registration if you don't login the email client every 3 weeks.

Sythesafe was only an example. The domain would be bought by staff of course. And they would hand the accounts as requested.

If the staff decided to invest in a domain, they would have to be sure it would take off so they haven't just wasted money. However, I think just using @hush is good enough, even Nick suggested it a few posts above.

I can give the necessary $10/year. I can also give a full server with root access where I don't have access.

Something like this would have to be considered and decided by Richard and Matthew. It's not a bad idea but if it hasn't been done yet then there must be a pretty good reason for it.
