[Food] El Monterey - Shell Shockers Fiery Hot + Jalapeno Ranch

Still looking for a good request for something to eat after I stare at the air with people. It's another two for one:

We'll start with the Jalapeno Ranch. I had these once a while back, but since then they stopped carrying that flavor as well as the Nacho Cheese flavor in favor of Fiery Hot. Now, the Jalapeno Ranch taquitos had almost no jalapeno flavor, but a hint of ranch. I really wanted the jalapeno and ranch to be more powerful, but it feels like it all falls off after you microwave it. Putting them in the oven resulted in the same situation. If you like a hint of ranch with your taquitos, then buy these. Just know that the ranch flavor is very mild. High 3/5 because the taquitos were good but didn't deliver on half of the flavor.

Fiery Hot is practically the same situation - you have to eat more than three to really get the flavor going, but the flavor is much more present in them. They're not what anyone should consider spicy, let alone "fiery hot," but it's a start. Soon there will be spicier products, for the spicy fans out there, but we have to wait and support the mild ones. The taquitos could use less red 40. We get it - red is spicy. (Side note: Dyes bother me because they aren't needed in most items. It's even more bothersome that supposedly some people react to dyes, such as red 40. The poops). 4/5 for me, because it could be way spicier. It tastes good though, and it's 25 cents per taquito, which isn't bad.

Try any of the three flavors if you like junk snack food - you cannot go wrong.

Have you had the taquitos from AMPM? Are they similar to these?

 

I've never been to an AMPM, but these taquitos taste nothing like the taquitos at 7/11... THOSE taquitos taste so much better for some reason. I'm not sure which flavor was my favorite, but I think it was this one:

These things are frozen, at your convenience, and 1/4 the price at 25 cents per, so I think it's fine. Gas station taquitos though, mm.

El Monterey makes tornados, which aren't as good as the 7/11 ones. Maybe that's what they have there.

 

Low 3/5 on the Nacho Cheese ones. Just bought them. Maybe even a high 2/5 (VERY VERY DIFFERENT GUYS).
