    Strength pure guide!

Strength pures are the most common types of pures in the Pvp worlds/ Bounty Hunter. They are really cheap to maintain, yet pretty hard to train if not done correctly. This guide focuses on an up-to-date way of training, and was written in March 09. This is the most efficient way to train your strength pure, so read on my desciples - loads of knowledge awaits within!

They say that as long as your attack is 10-15 levels below your strength, you will still be in the green.

    Low level training.

    Stage: 1

As always, start training at chickens. Some great places are south of falador, and north of lumbridge. You should train strength to 15. By the time you get 15 strength you will have collected 2000 or so feathers, which can be sold for another 10,000gp(Note:Now, go to Al Kharid and buy a scimitar, ). After you are 12 attack and 15 strength head over to Edgeville. Just north of the bank there is a house full of level 2 men. These are great training, and you could easily get 20 attack and 30 strength here in under 2 hours. [IMG]

    Mid level training.

    Stage: 2

By now, your pure would be pretty good, hitting 5s and 6s easily. However, this is not the time to Pk, instead lets sacrifice about 6 hours to get us to 40 attack and 40 strength. This is the most boring and frustrating 6 hours of your pure's runescape life, so make sure you have got music or some other form of entertainment. Head over to the monks in the monastery right next to edgeville. You will not need food, because the monks will heal you if you talk to them. The monks are level 5, and have low defence, giving you around 70 exp in attack or strength per monk. I guarantee that you will be bored, so take regular breaks, yet DO NOT GO PKING. At some point you will finally get the magic 40 for both attack and strength, and the most boring and frustratingly slow part of the training will be over!(You can also go to level 12 minotaurs and level 14 wolves in the Stronghold of Security [IMG]

    High level training.

    Stage: 3

You might think that leveling up is way too difficult, but I will assure you that you will never hit a monk from now on. For most people I know, this part is the most enjoyable, as it requires almost no clicking, fighting over monsters - there is plenty for everyone. Before you begin, use the 10k you recieved from the feathers, and buy cakes from the G.E. for 80 each. Cakes are the best training food available for F2p pures. One cake heals as much as a lobster, yet it costs three times less. Head to the stronghold of security, go through the first floor, and enter the second. Now keep going south until you reach a room with only flesh crawlers. There are atleast 20 in that room, and they will attack you, so you will be free to chat with other pures in the room! Even though, at the end of the day your Dental Health level will be 0, your strength will be 50 in only about 3 hours.

Tip:You can also just wait it out and train strength to 60!

Hope this guide can help you..

    Prayer!?
Most strength pures get prayer because they believe it will increase their damage. This is a common deception, because 31 prayer gives 3.75 Combat lvls, while you could also get 12 Strength levels within the same combat. Remember that when you drink a strength potion, it adds a proportion of your total strength. The higher strength, the higher proportional bonus. Also the strength levels are permanent and prayer is not.

    Some Common Strength Ko'S(Combos)
    Late Switch KOing
This is when you hit your opponent until they on around 23 or so hp. Just before your rune scimmy lifts, you click on your r2h and attack them. The r2h will instantly swipe for damage, and they will assume to take damage from a scimitar, but instead take from r2h. This extra 5 or so damage could mean life or death for them.

    Beat Down KOing
This is when you keep beating down your opponent so they cannot eat fast enough. You usually hit a few times with the rune scimitar until they can only eat up to around 22 hp. Then you use your r2h. If you are attempting to do this, be aware that they can eat twice within one hit if you hit them more than 2-3 times.

Eg. They are on 40hp. You hit a 10, then a 15, they eat, you hit a 18, they eat, you use a r2h to hit a 21. They are in Lumby.

    PKing (Multi)
Invent – 26 Lobsters, Strength Potion, Rune 2 Hander.
Wearing – Iron Helm, Iron chain body, iron platelegs, Rune Scimitar, Strength Amulet, Cape.

Basically practice piling with your team, spam names. You could also tree hug, safe or death dots.

Tree Hug means you run into trees so its hard for them to chase or attack you.

Safe means you eat every time you go below half your hp.

Death doesn’t mean everyone stands on the same spot so on the minimap it appears that only 1 person is there, when in fact there are several.

    Final Notes
Please do not PJ, Tag or safe in 1 v 1, as it is dishonorable.

    Edit: Updated
Tips:While PvP'ing it is always OK to use a strength potion.

1.If you train your Attack up (40, 50, 60 etc.) you will hit more often and be able to wield better weapons meaning more kills but will raise your combat level.

2.A very good weapon for a Strength pure is the Talisman staff. You can put whichever talisman on it you like, and it gives +33 strength bonus. You will need to

3.complete Rune Mysteries (an easy task) and get 50+ Runecrafting (an easy, but a maddeningly boring task).

3.If you're not sure you're a good Strength pure, test it out on others in the Duel Arena, Castle Wars, Bounty Hunter (Big Leagues), or PvP worlds.

4.You may have to train some skills as for quest requirements (Lost City, Monkey Madness, Regicide, etc.). That is OK and does not ruin your pure as long as you're not training Defence, Prayer, or Hitpoints.

5.If you are satisfied with your stats, or get bored of training Strength, Attack, etc. you can train a money-making skill such as Hunter, Woodcutting, or Fishing.

6.Remember: don't miss out on your social life! IT'S JUST A GAME!

7.MAKE SURE TO COLLECT ANY GOOD DROPS SUCH AS RUNES,COINS, HERBS. IT WILL ALL HELP IN THE FUTURE NO MATTER WHAT LEVEL YOU ARE.

8.If you are training on higher level creatures such as moss giants/demons; it may be a good idea to switch to a quieter world with a lower population, as there will be less people killing the creatures you're training on.

9.Use food! With level 1 Defence, food is a necessity.

10.If you don't train Attack at all, you can still wield an obsidian maul (search '-om' in the Grand Exchange) if you have 60 Strength and are a member.
Dragonhide chaps are available for those who raise their range to the appropriate level even if they have only 1 Defence, however training Ranged is not recommended if you are planning to be just a Strength pure.
Your F2P armor should look like this:
    Helmet: Iron full helm

    Body: Iron platebody

Legs: Green Dragon Hide Chaps (40 Ranged required)/Iron platelegs

Gloves: Iron gauntlets (from Fist of Guthix)

Weapon: Rune Scimitar OR Rune 2h Sword

Shield: None (When you are PvP'ing you can't switch to your 2H as fast.)

    Neck: Amulet of Strength

    Ring: None

This is pretty good but right now I have a hybrid and I'm pretty much stuck at 20 atk and 30 str. What should I train on now?

Its not that in depth. You are suggesting monsters everyone knows about, no pictures. Try something a bit more unique with your guide mate.

Alright I see what your saying.
And ClazzD... You train want you want when you want on a hybrid. I would suggest going for around 70 strength and around 60 attack then try working on maybe magic or range.

Pretty good guide! I recomend from 20-30 going to the goblins at the SoS and attacking the level 5&11 goblins. Takes 2 hours for the whole thing and its deserted on PvP worlds so you can get some free EP.
