Yeah, well I just got a portable version of Photoshop, and this is my first time using it (besides for messing around at school). But I made my first signature ever, and I actually thought it was pretty good for someone never using photoshop before. Rate please, thanks.

Mmm.... its Ok. Did you size this down? Make your sigs 400x110px. Thats usually good. 6/10.

Try and try again and you will succeed. -GP

Thanks. Yeah, I made it 500 x 104 i think. It sized it down when I tried putting it into my signature so whatever.

Find and play around with the smudge tool. Get a render, put it on a gradient background and start duping the render then smudging it. Play around, see what you can do. Make sure you also try playing around with different layer blending modes for the smudged renders.

There is no definite size that you have to use. Depends a lot on your render and the way you built, if you are cropping it, or are planning to build your sig.

ok, thanks. I used the smudge for the guy on the right, because it looked terrible without it, but i probably should have tried using it on the symbol and stuff. Thanks for the advice though.

The design on the left needs blended or moved. Both designs on the sides draw attention away from your text and also you can't tell what either design is.

Keep it us mate! You'll just keep getting better and better!

Thanks. I know the symbol on the left needs to be smudged, I didnt know how to do that yet when I did that part. I don't mind it drawing away from teh text though, idk why though. I just like the pictures better than the text =]. But I think you can tell what the design is, although you might not know what they are. The left design is the symbol of the band Coheed and Cambria (the best), and the right one is just a guy that was in their video of "Welcome Home". Thanks for the advice though.

Too much negative space, and with the render set on lighten, the text gives him a case of "floating head syndrome".

It's not very good. The text is huge and there is a ton of negative space. The render is out of place and doesn't even look like a focal point. What you want to do is make a focal point, which should be your render and blend in the render by adding effect etc. Read a couple of sig tutorials and you should have the basics down.
