48 hours

Sorry, but 48 hours is an *insanely* long amount of time to wait to bump your thread.

After 1 hour, its on the 2nd page and its no longer going to be read. Thats 47 hours of downtime for 1 hour of up time. Basically, you have a 1 hour window every 2 days to attempt to get someone to make an offer on your account. Wow.

After 24 hours, its already on about the 10th page.

48 hours? Oh I'd say probably 25th page. "Yay, now I can bump and get my thread on the first page for an hour. I hope someone makes an offer before I'm in the 47 hour deadzone!!"

After that, it's 24 hours.


You have to wait until someone posts on your thread before you can begin to post on it yourself.

No, what page a thread is on has nothing to do with classifying it as gravedigging or not.

The date of the last post is what is mainly looked at, even then, if the person is contributing something constructive, and it's still a valid topic, then it's not gravedigging.

I actually agree. I don't really see any point in bumping even being prohibited, but just to keep it within reason, I'd recommend a one-hour period between bumping.

 

I think another issue is also that it is 48 hours after a thread is made. At the very least that should be reduced to 24 to be in-sync with the current bumping rules.

I agree and disagree with a one-hour period. Will formulate my argument later when less hungover.
