Alright, so my account is over 3 years old and has never had any blackmarks. I also heard that posting on the forums every now and then in a positive manner increases your chances and I have roughly 4600 posts on the RuneScape forums.

What else increases your chances of becoming a moderator?

4600 posts is quite a feat; congrats. I'd assume that become an ingame moderator is a referral based system. Plenty of valid abuse reports and helping new players out can also score you points and hopefully, get you noticed. It's obviously also an advantage to know a couple of player moderators.

To be honest, loads of people back seat moderate on the forums it ain't funny.

Being a forum moderator is no achievement to be honest. Just sucking up gets you it.

Ingame, report and be a well mannered player and maybe jagex will consider you as player mod.

Change your password every month atleast. use strong passwords that nobody will guess, maybe an item in your room followed by numbers

    i.e.
    Scissors2468
    or
    567mobile1245

Do the same with your recoveries. set hard recoveries but make sure you write them down and save it, i suggest writing it down on a notpad aswell jsut incase your pc crashes.

Jagex want members with secure accounts to be moderators. If your account has multiple IP address's on it or would be easy to hack if you have a common password this would reduce your chances.

    Good luck!

No, that is rubbish and over excessive. Do you seriously think moderators change their passwords once a month? A secure account is one with a secure password (i.e. one with numbers and letters and difficult to guess).

Honestly the better way to become a moderator is, rather than reporting a player, tell him what he is doing wrong and walk away (but don't do it in a way that insults his intelligence). Another player will report him and the Jmod will see you trying to educate/help the offender. Obviously report the serious rules like racism but don't report the minor rules, rather educate players by asking them, hey man don't be angry, whats wrong etc. Just try and help them as opposed to hitting the report button straight away.

How long is your tongue? How deep is your throat?

Nah joking , Well basically just report people ingame.

If you always on the forum helping people etc you will most likely become a FORUM Mod , which is average , so stick to ingame stuff.

Your a moron...Yes hes part of a cheating website that offers NON CHEATING sub forums that cater for the legit players who like to post pictures , ask questions etc. Just like he has done in the RUNESCAPE GENERAL section...

It's strictly invite only. Before I started using Sythe, I was close friends with a guy named Kyle who was a player mod. He said the only way a member could become a Pmod is by 2 or more referrals from other Pmods.

Goodluck becoming a mod. That title is more sought after then a Xmas Cracker. You're best options would be to befriend a Pmod and spend lot's of time playing the game with them. Don't bring up the topic of being a Pmod until you've established a long-term, close relationship with them. ;)

i like that second paragraph, has quite a chunk of meaning and i fully agree with the part about being friends with mods will increase your chances, and also not mentioning their role as a mod. treat them as another player and they'll think you just wana be friends. though, could also start you off as a different person over the time period that you try to be a mod and in the end you get the title, along with being a completely new person ingame [because attitudes are major in games for some reason, normally not yourself at all]

otherwise i wish you good luck and have fun :]

I've seen attempts at selling recommendations here on Sythe, though I don't know how they went.
