Awesome. I love it and can't stop listening to it. Sounds a lot like Guerrero or Barbee. Do you have any more songs like this? If not, then you should definitely get on that. There can never be enough of this kind of music out there. You really have talent. Don't let anyone tell you different.

Since you got me in the mood, here are a few tracks I'm currently hooked to.

 

The low quality of the recording and mediocre mixing really ruined the whole experience for me. It sounds like it'd be a very nice instrumental track, but you seriously need to at least do the mixing better.

 

Dimethyl, thanks man I really appreciate that! Galaxia is definitely the label that's most influenced me. And yeah, I don't if you ever listened to the tracks I posted here a while ago, but I've got a lot of new material that's a big improvement from what I was doing before. I'll post some of it later today.

Mage, I did no mixing at all lol. I don't have programs for it and I'm too broke to buy the equipment I need. The reason it's quality is so low is because I record everything using garageband on an ipad. But to tell you the truth, I kinda like the lo-fi sound.

 

I can definitely tell. I don't think I've heard any of your other material, but I'd be interested in anything you have.

Also I don't think the quality is bad at all. It didn't even cross my mind the first time hearing it. I wouldn't even worry about mixing at the moment. Worry about that later. Like you, I personally like the sound of it anyways. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure we're the only people on here that even listen to this kind of music lol, so it's of course going to be difficult to get any decent feedback. Seriously though, I think it's really good, especially for a first track. How long have you been playing?

 

Nah, the quality is the least of my concerns at the moment. I've been playing the guitar for about 7 years, though I've only been coming up with my own stuff for about one year. I took up the bass about 1 year ago as well.
I'll post those other tracks later today.

Any feedback works for me lol. Right now I think I'm still borrowing too heavily from Tommy G (as you can tell), so I'd still like to take a couple more years to improve my playing and develop a more solid sound before I start to "get serious" about my music.

 

I would like more bass presence. especially at the very low end to flesh it out and add to the atmosphere.

maybe more use of sampling could make it more interesting.

drums need EQing more imo

i like the melodies and texture but i would like to see a bit more experimentation and depth to the general structure of the song.

more instrumentation as well, please. strings, horns, unorthodox percussion, woodwind would all sound wonderful if you could actually get hold of someone to record these for you.

 

lo-fi is fine, but even basic equalization is incredibly important in my opinion.

Just my feedback on it, and how I'd like it to be. Completely up to you to listen or not, heh.

 

I love it. Totally relaxes me.

 

believe me man, if I had the right equipment I'd be all over that. I'd especially love to work with some brass instruments. And I definitely agree about the bass, but again, I need better equipment!

added two tracks. They might be kinda wishy-washy though (nowhere near as good as the first one I posted), as I made them a while ago, but let me know what you guys think.

 

I think they're both really good. I especially like Tesla. I think everything you've made has been great so far. Definitely looking forward to your next work.

 

I like Gamma quite a bit, defiantly more prominent percussion there.

 

This is not my sort of music but it's good.
Just do a better recording, the micro quality seems to suck :/

believe me, if I had more $$$$ I'd probably buy new recording equipment. Unfortunately I'm too broke atm, so I've got to make do with what I have lol
