Introduction
As I have been slowly getting into 2007 (market, economy, gaming etc.) I quickly noticed the bot market was rising up again to the powerful state in which it originated.

Soon after beginning to look through these sites, I was told to check out Tribot, a powerhouse in the business. As I checked the bottom, I noticed 5000 unique users online in the past 24 hours. That's amazing, and just on the forums alone, who knows how many are using the bot.

With all the threads about the "death of Sythe" (including this amazing thread by Blade) I have been thinking...

Why doesn't Sythe have a RuneScape bot? We're already the top in black market sales, and look at all of these bot-only sites that are successful on that alone! We won't have to worry about setting up a forums, because ours is the most reputed and established around!


Execution
Obviously, it takes some good code writers to make a bot. I personally know that Richard (Sythe) is a great writer, and Blade tells me Govind fits into that category as well. With many others on standby, the bot could be up and running in no time at all! The Sythe community would love to test and report issues, and this may just be the idea that we've all been looking for.

Funding
With the planning posted, donations would come rolling in. If that doesn't work, I am prepared to fund the project myself, I'm that positive it would work. The outcome would be well worth the time that it would take. With a minirank for "bot owners," or something along that line, we could tell who has paid the small fee to download and log-in to the Sythebot client.

I would like to know what you all think of the idea. So far, only positive things have been said, but I would like to refine it further before I continue to Richard about it.

So Roary and I have been talking, If the bot idea does not work what if we had something similar to swiftkit (Client with integrated toolkit) But you come to sythe to download and it was able to play and process 07 plus EoC so you kill two birds with one stone. Just another idea feel free for more thoughts. Also if we made them register just to use the client and we kept some members from it it would be worth it

I think Sythe doesn't have a bot because of legal issues with Jagex. Something Richard does NOT want to have with them. I remember him saying Jagex had some lawsuit going on with Powerbot last year.

 

And powerbot is still up, because Jagex "doesn't have shit on bots," as a lower way to put it. There's nothing they can do, that's why all of these sites are still up and running as well as goldfarming sites.

 

I think there was already a huge thread where this was debated?

 

Either way Richard isn't going to want trouble with Jagex or the law where he can avoid it. Getting a bot up and going is no problem. Even Govind has his own autoclicker somewhere.

 

I don't play RS anymore, but I think this would be a good idea.

I don't support. Sythe should be left as a black market site, rather than some branding bot site. I'm not against making a bot, but making a bot now and trying to take a share from other bots is just a lot of to do, unless you offer something stupendously attractive.

Even though I see that your wishes are good, but the chances of actually doing something good to Sythe are low and the chances of screwing it up are really high. Unless some genius bot maker wants to make a deal with Sythe to use Sythe's name under its bot to advertise it, while letting Sythe members supervise it, then I'm against this idea.

Sythe's not gonna go away and you shouldn't try to attract people by themselves, you should try to make it so that people wouldn't want to leave Sythe.

wow...what an amazing idea, and very well put together...BUT the only problem with that is the legal issues that richard would come along with, we don't want the bot to go out, and then have him get sued by jagex, and then sythe may be taken down with it....

Regardless this is an amazing idea, and I would like to help support this in any way i can, and would love to use the bot as well.

Hopefully this gets pushed to them, but i really think the reason they haven't yet is due to legal issues.

 

Possible legal repercussions aside I think its a decent idea. I assume that it would work in the same way as the unofficial private server where its unofficially developed and then announced. Maybe if the bot was decent it could be given a section or something but in terms of legality/responsibility it would probably be best to just keep it unofficial.

 

If there were legal issues, don't you think Tribot, and powerbot would have been shut down already? What rule does this actually break legally for jagex none that i am aware.

 

Personally I don't think it will be successful due to other dominant bot producers already. I mean, there is no harm trying, however I highly doubt the end result will be anything near what people expect.

 

Your right seller man it may not give the golden result's but I do think that it will make a difference for the good and not the bad.

 

I think you're underestimating how big an undertaking coding a bot like tribot is. None of the staff with the ability have the time. Unless you're volunteering to write it, it's a nice idea but not really implementable.

I am not underestimating or not trying to, like i said just an idea, and it would be like working a job, as i would pay whatever they see fit. But i really believe this would make a big difference, I will try to stop commenting now and let everyone discuss.
