+++range+++

I've made a new pure, it's going to be range/claw.

I am focusing on 80+ range before anything right now but where should i train? I'm 1 def, 24 range, I'm planning on cannoning my range up after i hit around 40.

1. Where should i train 24-40 range?
2. Where is the best place to use the cannon for great exp?
3. Where to train 60-80 range?
(Character will be 1 defense)

It has been a long time since i started a new character, I've quit for a year or more and have no idea about any updates.

I'll be investing whatever money it takes to chin 99 range so the few hp levels I will lose from cannoning is not a big deal to me.

 

I assume this will be done legit? If so i'd say 24-40 at hill giants. I wouldn't suggest using cannon its a waste of money and you don't get all that much xp. Just knife ogres at the combat training place.

 

Grab yourself a sling as well. Makes for cheap and efficient training during the lower levels.

 

Okay thanks a lot, yeah it's going to be done legit. Rune knives at ogres for 80 range? Any sort of estimation on how long 40-80 will take knifing ogres? 80-99 will be chinned. Hopefully it doesn't cost over 40m -.o

 

erm, to answer your question about 60-80, I would think a pures best bet is ogres in the cage above ardough. All you have to do is the plague city/biohazard quests which are both very easy and short and pure-friendly. Then you can just go there and hit them up for as long as you like. There are several (like 6 or 7) in a cage, there range defense is low so you hit often on them, and if you bring telegrabs the seed drops even pay for your arrows, so free fast range xp, cant ask for more. I used them for my range alot during the 90's to try and conserve some money (I chinned some of it as well), but in the 80s and 90s I was getting like 35k-44k/hour, so starting at 60 they would still be much better xp than anything else thats available to pures (slim pickings for 1 defense, LOL).

Also, there bottable if you have the autofiter and you can even set it up to telegrab the seeds so no worries there. Just make sure to remember that this is a cage so two things:
1. if using autofiter you need to check the box that says "unreachable NPC"
2. this is a cage so you cant use accumulator for getting back your arrows, so use bronze, iron, or steel arrows or knives, anything higher would be a huge waste of money and not much more xp so not worth it my opinion.

 

Don't use rune knifes, that be a waste of money. Just use bronze/iron.

damn didn't even think of a sling, yea if you used a sling in combination with the whole telegrab thing you would actually profit while getting great range xp! also using a sling is perfect because with there low range defense I doubt you would even notice a difference between a sling or bronze arrows/knives

 

Grab a sling and head to cows for 24-40 range.
