Range Tank V. Zerker Pure both/ neither??? ? Help

Hey guys, I've been playing RS since release and one thing i never got into doing was making a zerker pure or a range tank only a pure and a main. Right now im feeling very confused.

I plan to make a main (all 99s) and a pure (1def) for the 07 servers. But then what should i make?

Im feeling like my main could successfully play the role of being both these things but then again i could be wrong . i spent most of my time pking on lower levels.

I need to know can i be a range tank and a zerker pure on one account and would that work out well ? or would i need more then 45 defense ?

You can be either a range tank or a berserker pure since to become a range tank you need relatively high defense while for a berserker pure, as it says in the name, is 45 defence.

Generally from my past experience berserker pures are much more fun since you have a whole range of weapons and styles to choose from. This variety is not available with range tanks (although you can mage). Training a range tank also takes forever and requires a tonne of patience. You can PK at lower levels with a range tank but it's very hard to get kills (if you have several defense levels already). On the other hand berserker pures are quite fun to train, being nowhere near as tedious as training a range tank, and you can PK right from day one.

The choice is yours, but is there really much point of making a range tank when you have a main and a berserker pure when you have a 1 defense pure?

 

I think to be considered a "tank" you would need more than 45 def . probably around barrows level at-least.

 

this mostly sums it up, but a range tank can be fun at maxed level but like he said it will take alot of patience, but in the end it would be worth it, but again its all up too you in the end

 

Range tanks pretty much raped any other account in 2007. The trick is keeping your HP lower by doing this you keep your combat lower and you can pretty much destroy any account. I have a maxed pure and although pures can deal out massive damage they suck because they have to eat a shit load.

veng + barrage + ahrims or any other barrows will destroy any account.

Whenever I used to play runescape I always like to run through a progression. A 1 defense pure can always become a zerker pure; however, a zerker pure can never become a 1 defence pure.

If you make a zerker, and don't like it, you can always become a barrow pure/range tank.

You can't do it vice versa however.

That being said, I have a maxed (near) zerker in EOC. They're a blast to play with; however, if I started out on 2007scape, I would start with a 1 def pure. They're the most fun IMO, especially without all the cool high level weapons that are present in EOC.
