Range tank and barrows gloves

Is it really necessary to get barrows gloves as a range tanker?
I'm about to make one and looked at some guides and alot of them said barrows gloves is a must.

 

It depends on how you're gonna be pking. If you're using range only then it doesn't really make a difference whether you're using black d'hide vambs or barrows gloves. But if you're hybriding then barrows gloves are a must.

 

I also do believe that barrows gloves have higher def stats than vambraces

 

tbh I'd just get them. They give great stats for just a glove slot.

If you're gonna mage / range its a great idea.

 

Go ahead and get them, better in the long run!

 

Get them, better for training def, but you don't have to make them a priority... Fit the quests in here and there when you CBA.

If you're just camping edgeville in tank range gear just stick to vambs

If you're going to Easts/Ports/44's/MB, get RFD gloves since you're obviously not going to be maging in vambraces, and BGloves trump Combat bracelets stats-wise.

 

Even if barrows gloves aren't a must, you should still get them to have an equal or higher advantage then other players out there.

 

If you don't want to get the 175 QP's, get dragon still. But if you're in it for the long haul (seems like you are), deffas get the barrows.

 

I've been a tank ranger for 6 years, I've never found it neccessary to get barrow gloves. For clan pk trips we'd use rune gloves as return set anyways.
My previous rune ranger (99range, 45def, 26 pray) had 18QP with veng, and it rocked the wild with range only
If you want to hybrid you should get them tho.

A "Must" definitely not. I got them on my range rank, because every little perk does add up. But they won't make a noticable difference in the average fight.

 

I wouldn't call them a "must", not even close.

You are always best to get them - if you're ever going to be doing mage/range hybridding then these are your gloves.
