Need Help....

Ok, Im a sythe member but im posting anonymously because I dont feel like I want to reveal who I am atm.

Im 19 years old and live in the UK.
I have klippel feil syndrome and sprengel shoulder syndrome.
Im a little less than 5ft. And weigh 38kgs.

Ive always been picked on in school quite badly. But nobody really knows about this. Ive never really had anybody to speak to and discuss my problems with.

Recently i just started Uni and have made barely any friends. I have very little confidence. And basically just dont give a fuck about my life. Never had a gf.

Just wanted advice on how I could improve my self confidence and self esteem. because im not going to get anywhere in life if i stay like this.

Join clubs and societies to mix and bond with fellow peers. Thats what I did when I came to uni.
Sometimes I just tag along to various nights out with my flatmates, even though we are very different.

 

I don't think you have anything to worry about in the looks apartment, when you actually think about it, does height have any serious meaning anyway? Your height doesn't determine how approachable you are or your likeability.

It probably sounds a little cliché but you'll make friends just by being yourself, interact with people and you can then define who you'd like to keep interacting with. When I started college I just started talking to people in my class who seemed appealing, my type of person you know?

It's horrible feeling lonely and I really hope you overcome your problems, if you need someone to talk to you can always PM me, my life isn't perfect and I'm not a self-esteem guru but I can probably ease your problems if we talked.

 

I've seen uglier people then you have giant social life's. (ugly by your own standard not mine.) You just need to interact with people. It honestly isn't that hard. Put yourself out there, if you talk people will listen. You simply cant be awkward, or do strange things while with people. Ill talk to almost anyone as long as you can hold a decent conversation. Take risks the worst they can do is ask you to leave.

 

Well, firsly, don't fear approaching people. Forget all your fears, like what do you have to lose? NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. So just go to people and start conversations, first times might not be that good, but after a while you'll find someone with similar thoughts, you'll find friends, just don't be afraid. Also, try taking MBTI test, just google it, might give you some insight on yourself.

Tbh I think height actually matters alot. Girls normally approach me because im "cute" and it gets really annoying after a while because they want you there all the time like a little accessory.

Thats the problem I really cant interact with people because I really don't see anything I have in common with other people and then the topic changes to "why do you have no neck?" or "why are you so small?". If I got a penny for every time somebody questioned me about the way I am, I'd be a very rich man.

Just be open man. Be a social butterfly. Talk to everyone, try and make friends. Be FUNNY. People love funny. Most of all, just be you.

Over the years Ive just felt like Ive lost who the real "me" is. I mean who I was in high school is completely different to who I am now.

 

Well, college is all about finding yourself, so find away. You'll figure it out dude, just don't stress over it and make a big deal of it to yourself.

 

Don't ever let size get to you in any aspect. It really matters that you believe in yourself and be confident that God made you the way He made you for a reason! That's what I do.

I'll be completely honest with you. I'm not particularly happy with my size either. I mean as far as body goes I'm really small and thin, 5'5" 109 lbs, but I have small features that I'm not happy about. I know God made me this way for a reason, and I'm okay with it

I don't think people dont want to talk to me. I feel as though people try to avoid me...

 

If I were you, I wouldn't worry so much about friends.. I would just finish up my years in college, and get a job.. a house.. then once your settled, start going out to clubs etc.. Find a woman? but eventually you'll find some friends in college, just try to communicate with people. Gl.

One of my good friend is so small. And he doesn't get picked on at all. LOL.

And girls, some girls do like small boys, it's not about height at all. I'm not short myself but I don't see any small people getting left out.

And judging by your photos, there's nothing wrong with you at all, so I don't know what you're thinking. If I saw you I wouldn't think anything bad.

If you have certain syndromes, I wouldn't pay much attention to what you can't control, people won't look or see it. I'm sure there's more people in worse situations but managed to get above it, you'll have to do the same. Don't look down on those things, think of the best thing you can do at University. The best future.

That is Nick Vujicic. He's so inspirational... I am not comparing you to him, it's just that he helped me get through some things.

 

He is one of the best examples on why keep going on life. Try looking at things more positively, life is awesome.

I'd start a martial art or something. You'll gain so much confidence.
