Quite possible to exploit the Wilderness vote in our favour.

I've noticed when you vote at http://www.runescape.com/wilderness you don't need to log in to your account to cast your vote, and if you vote with the same account twice your vote doesn't count the second time (you can find this out by watching the "recent voters" column to the right of the screen, one you vote legitimately the fiirst time your account name you entered will be on top of this list, when you vote a second, third, forth etc. time your account name will not appear there.

It also doesn't seem to make a difference how many accounts you vote from on your ip address as i just did 6 of mine from the one ip and they all 'seemed' to count.

So what i was thinking of doing is making a program that would extract the usernames from the highscores table and input them 1 by 1 and vote 'for them'.

What are your thoughts?

I had noticed this, with out loggin in i think this may just be some gay joke by jagex.

Yer the ability to vote without logging in makes me feel like this is just some form of 'keep hope in their eyes' stunt. Or possibly a way of just saying "Only the minority want the wildy back, so it's never going to happen".

so true, them killing wildy was the reason i ruined my pure (up'd defence) then later on quit anyway.

 

I've seen a bot for this, something with Ruby in its name. Can't remember the name but there's many people doing this so far, for all we know it might only allow 1 vote per IP but who knows.

 

On the flip side - they could have already decided what they're going to do, and want people think that there was a majority vote on the matter.
