    Open Carry!

I love open carrying in NH! How many of you open carry/conceal carry and for what state do you carry in?

Out of interest why do you want to open carry a firearm? It seems stupid, just walking around going "yeah I have gun" when it is insanely easy to buy a firearm in the US that potentially anyone could have one anyway.

Concealed handgun license seems enough to be honest.

Another video showing the EU that the US are jerks..
I don't see how or why openly carrying a gun is big or smart.

theres a difference between concealed and ope ncarry that most of you kids who do not have a permitt to do so don't understand.

open carry is having a holster/carrying it with you in public places not hidden, which most people do for protection, as a matter of fact a guy i used to work with managed to save his wifes life from a mugger because he carried a pistol, the guy stabbed his wife and he shot the fucker dead, what people don't understand is when you do discharge a firearm like that, you have to go to court and have a judge determine if you were in the right, and if you can keep your permitt.

concealed his having said weapons hidden from view I.E console of a car etc not in plain view.

    also.. didn't watch the video

Well if you're in a dangerous area than MAYBE open carry a handgun.

But I see people in the US walking around with assault rifles (i.e. an AR-15) when it's completely unnecessary. A concealed handgun license makes more sense than open carry (depending on where you are).

I didn't see your post while I was replying to Shoop. I know the difference between open carry + concealed.

I don't live in the U.S. silly. I have heard of people walking around with them though, it wouldn't surprise me though. I mean I can imagine people doing that.

And the United Kingdom probably is (or is one of) the most restricted country in the world on firearms laws. You can get a shotgun with ease, that's about it. You want a handgun you're going through a load of shit. Assault rifles you have to write to the home secretary. Sniper rifles are a big no. Automatics are forbidden. If you even have one small criminal offence you will guaranteed never be allowed to have a firearm. Hell not even the armed police here have fully automatic rifles (with the exception of airport security, government agencies and so on).

It just seems silly to walk around displaying one if there's no real need to.

I live in the south which is probably why, but I know a large majority of people with AR's. However, I have never seen someone casually walking around with it either. I will say though that I agree in how unnecessary they are, they are incredibly fun to shoot. I feel like there are multiple things going on that make gun laws so complicated.

Why do people even need semi-automatic rifles with large clips?
    - I feel this is a similar question to why people have sports cars that go so fast. Simply because they can and they are fun to shoot. People have different interests and some people really like guns for various reasons.

    Safety...
    - A lot of people feel safer with guns and it offers then a form of protection. A large large majority of all gun users are extremely knowledgable with gun care and safety.

I will agree that there are a lot of people that just have guns because they just want to be high on their own horse gun supporters. Again this really isn't a big issue.

In all seriousness, people who want to use a gun to commit a crime are going to be able to obtain a weapon. Just like kids can go around finding drugs and other ILLEGAL items, youre sure as hell someone can find a gun.

I think the issue is not a gun issue, but rather a people issue.

I have seen it a few times here in NH (Open Carry of an Ar-15/Scar 17s etc). Many people do it just for the sake of saying "it's my right." Usually only seen it ~once/month.

As to WHY I open carry, because if you see someone has a gun, you are going to be either intimidated, and therefore much less likely to attack me/try to mug/assault me. It also functions as a peace keeper. If two people are screaming at each other in the parking lot over a space, and you walk up and ask what the issue is, the driver who didn't get the space merely goes and parks in another spot and continues the day, no need to call the police/use force, just the mere presence.

I do have my ccw (pistol/revolver conceal and carry permit), in the state of NH. You need it to carry a loaded handgun in a motor vehicle.

I like having my firearm on me, I actually hate being away at school without it. I feel so defenseless.

the whole gun debate on why you need a high cap mag etc is folly.

why do i want a high cap mag? well i target shoot, and i like to unload onto the target. thats all you need to know.

If 5 people come at me and I am in Massachusetts, I will need to deliver a fatal blow within 2 rounds of each person (assuming it takes 2 for each person).

Mass has a 10 round magazine capacity limit, unless your gun/mag is pre-ban (pre-1994).

I like my XDm 16 round magazine thank you.
