45 vs 30 Defence?

I currently have a pure. I am just wondering what def to get for turmoil?

30 = lower combat, Prossy, Turmoil at low level.

45 = Zerker helm, Firecape, Fighters torso

So please help me decide!!

How about 40 for Barrow gloves, rune defender, vengeance, and torso? The extra combat level for 45 isn't worth the 7 damage (.7 damage in old Runescape).

40 outweighs 30 by a lot because you're missing out on a lot (mention above) for just two and a half combat levels.

 

OFC 45! The Firecape/torso/barrow gloves make up a heck load of str bonuses.

 

For 30, you'd have prossy not Ini. I'd stay get 40 like the guy who posted right after you suggested.

45 for sure. Just do it right and have everything you should. Don't be a failure.

 

A few more CB levels is definitely worth 40 def.

 

I'd say get 35 defence. You achieve this by entirely questing it.

You get prossy, firecape, b gloves, turmoil, etc. Only 4 less strength bonus than a zerker (you won't PK in torso), but you save yourself 3.5 combat levels.

It really does help in the end, trust me. My vote goes for 35.

 

40/42 for reasons stated in above posts + void.

Thanks everyone! A lot of replies =o. Seems like im leaning towards 40. 35 sounds good, but can you get that with turmoil? Including quests and stuff? Not sure really lol.

 

Lowest CB for turmoil is 28. You can try getting 30 and PK with that for a while to see how you like it then you can move up to 40 def. Don't get 45 as it's a waste.

 

Neither 30 or 45 def is good UNLESS you have the ridiculous amount of time it takes to quest.
Bgloves take a ridiculously long amount of time (176qp) and so do the turmoil quest+rune gloves.

With questing being taken into account, 40 def is definately the best option. Opens up alot of gear and rune defenders/veng.

A decent turmoil pure/zerk takes months to actually complete so don't start unless you can finish.

 

I have b gloves on my main, so I know how long it takes. I expect to be maxed in late 2011. So, yes don't worry I know how long it takes.

IF i would have the choice i would definately go for 45 def
