Quick Photoshop Question

I'm coding this site and I have the hover-image script in the code.

Now, here's the issue.

I made it so the button (if the mouse is not on it) is not lighted up, enhanced, etc.

Once your mouse goes over it, the text becomes brighter.

Anyhow, here's the issue. My mouse is about 5 inches away from the image and it lights it up. This is not what I want, I was it to light up at most, about a centimeter or two away from the image or none at all.

So, I thought I had leftover remains of the image 5 inches away from the picture on Photoshop so, I deleted those parts and it seems to be that that's not the issue.

If you know how to fix this error but, don't quite understand what I'm trying to explain, I'll show you an example.

 

Are you sure you don't have 5 inches worth of transparent space? May be worth doing an image>trim

 

I just explained that that's what I thought I originally had but, I deleted it and re-uploaded it but, it the problem was still there...

 

So you used the slice function and saved it as a web element?

 

Like emperor said, you probably have some transparent spacing. try deleting this and reupload.
