    Questions for staff section

Contacting a mod can be quite hard at times and it seems like it’s nearly impossible to contact Global’s and Admin’s. This is understandable as they probably get spammed with private messages but still the public needs an answer to their questions. So I propose that we add a Questions for staff section. You post a thread in this section with your question. Mod’s will read it and either answer it, trash it (Spam) , or tag it for a certain mod or a global/admin/sectional to answer it. This would make it so your question will always be answered, which isn’t the case with the current pming a question system. It would also allow sectionals to help tag and answer questions for the admins/globals. Lastly it would allow multiple mods to help answer the same question. This section would be set up simmilair to the report a scammer section where only the poster and staff can reply to threads.

Post your opinions on my idea and offer me ways to improve this new system

I wouldn't mind this, but I can imagine it being "abused" the same way people as PMing staff members. Making threads on unneeded issues, etc.

Thats when u can just archive the threads this would free up more of the upper staffs time then it would the sectionals but it would just allow the mods to work together in finding the questions that need answering. It would spread out the work instead of the admins being left with hundreds of pm's to read through

So essentially you want a private staff forum that people can post threads in, but they can only see their own threads so that the person can talk to all the staff at once about a problem instead of PMing a specific one?

Suf your not seeing the affect this would have it would allow the sectionals to help the admins/globals in answering the questions as most of the time members just go straight to pm'ing an admin. It will also allow you to effectively ask an admin a question where as before some pm's just get lost in there 100's of spam pm's would also allow multiple staff members to answer questions that some mods might not know the answer to

Well in a way yes but I was thinking more private where only staff could see posts but maybe allowing public to see but not respond may be a good idea aswell

I support this. Someone could open a thread, which could then only be seen by mods and higher ranks, if they have any problems that they feel couldnt be answered from the community. A mod takes a look at the thread and decides where to go from there. Sort of like various threads on the RS Forums which only forum moderators can view, none of the public can.

If this is what you are trying to get across, I like it.

I was simply asking for clarification of what you were suggesting as I do not fully understand. However, regardless of the specifics I do like the idea. I would just like a better explanation.

But its basically a private forum that the entire staff has full access to and the public has access but only can view their own threads?

Either public has no access to threads other then their own or maybe a simmilair set up like the report a scammer section, I just don't know if the staff thinks that questions and answers should be private or not

I dont think it would be as effective if the public could also view the thread. I think it should be a 1 to 1, or between one user and the mod(s)/globals.

    Questions for staff section

It really depends on the nature of questions that the forum is used for. I feel like having the entire public be able to see threads seems a bit like the feedback forum. However, the private forum idea I do think has some good uses. A trial run of it to see what the staff thinks of it could be useful.

I partially agree with you as sometimes you'd like to send them a question and include various proofs etc that probably shouldn't be viewed by the public but at the same time if the threads were viewable by the public then people would be able to see previous questions and answers that may answer there own.

Thats my only concern sneaky is I would like to avoid answering the same question a 1000 times. Thats why I'd support the RaSc permissions be put in place.
