Questions about referrals

Referrals is 1 of the few things i never really got involved with in league of legends, perhaps you guys can share you're past experiences.

Is riot actively banning people for buying Ref's ?

Debating on getting some Ref's from a friend of mine, j/w if its worth the risk to put some RP on my smurfs? Ty for any insight

I got 100 on 2 accounts and neither got banned. This was only a couple months ago. I don't personally do refs so idk if you need a VPS for different IP's or anything.

However, the safer route would seem to get refs on a new/unused account and gift stuff over to your account. Just my opinion, though.

You will not be banned for referral abuse if it's your first time.

Unless you have a ridiculous amount you most likely will not be caught for it.

I personally have about 150 referrals and have had no consequences to my account.

When Riot first catches you for RaF (Refer a Friend) abuse they strip all of the rewards from your account gained through RaF, I believe the next time you're perma banned from just the RaF system but not the actual game. There's a list of how punishments are given for RaF abuse somewhere on the Riot Website. But basically what I've said is all you need to know.

Tl;dr
Don't buy a ton of referrals and you'll be fine.

Like most things, do it with in reason and don't abuse the system and you should be perfectly fine.

They have to take into account things like famous youtubers will be getting LOTS of referals etc n shit like that so they do expect people to have a lot, just don't be herp derp obvious.
