Question to those who run bot farms; CPU temps.

    Hey guys.
    This is my current computer:
    CPU: i7 2600k
    Mobo: P8P67 PRO
    RAM: 16GB DDR3 1333MHz
    Case: HAF-932
    PSU: 700W CORSAIR
    HDD: 1TB WD Caviar Black

The heatsink I have is some SilenX one, it cost like $30. It's supposed to be real nice, and cool well.

Anyway, I'm currently running 6 bots in RSBuddy, seperate windows, not using Windows.

Here is a screenshot of my CPU monitor:

This is just running 6 bots and Firefox!
I want to run at least 20 bots, but am afraid about the CPU.
    What do you guys think?
What are you guys using to cool your system?
I feel like it shouldn't be that hot!

All replies are greatly appreciated. :)

Those temps are nothing to worry about, after 90C is when you start to degrade your cpu.

20 bots really isn't that demanding, just add more bots untill you feel that you've reached a high temp.

You'll need to OC your computer pretty to get 20 bots on it. RSbuddy has had some nasty CPU inflation for the past few months. Do what Peakz said, and just watch your temp and keep it around 80. Getting to 86+ is dangerous because temporary spikes in ambient temperature could do some damage.

I've been noticing RSBuddy do that recently, but Powerbot/RSBot didn't seem to be much of a difference.
And, Nexus doesn't have all the money making bots I really want, but I'll give running more nexus a shot too.

Question to those who run bot farms; CPU temps.

I'm just confused, how you are keeping such low temperatures, like, could it be the heatsink? Or what?
I don't think mine should get this warm.
When I'm not doing anything, it is always around 35C.

    Edit:
I have Firefox, and a Guildwars installation going, and the CPU is around 50C-65C.
Something has to be wrong, right?

Question to those who run bot farms; CPU temps.

I can barely run 7 or so bots (doing nothing but just bots and on facebook/sythe) with it being around 80-85C.

How does one get it even cooler?
Should I reseat my heatsink, add more thermal paste? :O
I hear of some people having it idle at 26C!

Question to those who run bot farms; CPU temps.

lol most recommended temps are 60-70s depending on the type such as intel or amd idk where u get your 90s from that would roast it lol.

anyways intels tend to run hotter than amd's most amd's recommend no hotter than 60's where as intel most are in mid and upper 70s so you're fine with the temps you have I would just maybe worry once u get around 68-69 if you go over it won't kill your computer but it will damage it over time.

Question to those who run bot farms; CPU temps.

You could leave your computer off and just bot on a vps. :p If your going to be farming large amounts of gold, you probably don't want those accounts linked with your main. VPSInfinity has some very fast servers and a ton of bandwidth. I tested their dl speed upwards of 30mb/s (on their cheapest package). There are others out there, but infinity comes with all of the major bots(RSBuddy, Nexus, etc.) pre-installed and ready to run.

    Awesome!
I'm going to look into returning this heatsink if it isn't good enough, and buying something a little better.
I current have the SilenX efz-120ha3.
I bought it at CompUSA, but here is a Newegg link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835226032

I'm ok actually, as the bots I use are unsigned and don't use my IP, and tbh, I don't care about that main that much. Nice advert btw.

i7's are designed to run hot, anything ABOVE 90c will cause a instant BSOD, but keeping it under 80c is recommended to make sure you don't degrade the CPU too much..

TL;DR - Anything below 80 is OKAY, 70 would be a good treshold to aim for to always have extra room for any sudden changes.
