[Question] More polished, Glossy looking text?

I was just wondering how people manage to get text to look so polished and glossy when making Signitures even when it has a straight edge, The only way I can create any kind of shine to my text is by giving it a fillet cap like this;

If anyone could help me to be able to get a glossier looking finish on my text it would be much appreciated, Even if they just point me in the right direction of a tutorial!

Haha, noticed you posted that on Gages' thread.. well, to be honest with you, it's one of the most basic things to do in Cinema4D and it takes only 30 seconds.. I might make a tutorial on this.. might reveal more secrets.. not too sure yet, I'll see what I can do.
Just look up some modelling tuts, you'll learn from those.

 

I have a few times, It looks really nice, metallic and glossy on the actual material but then completely loses its shine when I put it into render.

 

if your using a material go into the settings and turn specular off that should do the trick

 

That is because you have no good lighting. What is the reflective material supposed to reflect if there is no lighting?

 

Ambient Occlusion
Global Illumination

You'll have to figure out settings by yourself though.

 

I playing about with soft boxes right now and it does a slight trick, but straight edged text still seems to look a little dull, the reflections don't look crisp.
