Do poor people deserve poverty?

Please state your opinion and give factual evidence to back it up.

 

some people probably do but not the ones that are in poverty no i dont think so.

 

How are we supposed to give factual evidence for something of which is pure opinion? lol

On topic though, I believe if you make decisions that lead to your poverty then it is no one's fault other than your own. If someone has had a tough time or gotten extremely unlucky with the hand that life gives them, I wouldn't say they "deserve it" per se.

 

Well it's entirely dependent on your circumstances isn't it? No one actually deserves to be living in poverty, but you get out of life what you put in - if you don't have a job then you can't really expect to be living the life of a millionaire. Obviously some people are in really unfortunate situations which they genuinely have no control over and in their case I can understand why they might complain or be unhappy, but if you just live in poverty because it's what your job permits then you don't deserve anything more. People don't just end up living good lives by magic, a banker might leave the house at 5am, go out to work and not return until 11pm and obviously for that amount of work then they can expect to be in a good financial situation.

 

Totaly on the cause of why their in that situation. Say a man gets fired from his job and cant find one due to the fact the economy just isnt what it is. He's forced to take a job that pays minimum wage and its only part time. That man doesnt deserve it. But people who do deserve it like highschool drop outs, convicted felons (Debatable), Immagrants who make no attempt to join your culture (USA) and get social security without paying into it AND still cant produce enough money to get out of there do.

 

I don't thik they deserve being poor, however it may have been their fault to have failed at life

 

No one deserves poverty. I don't care if they're too lazy to find work/whatever.

In this day and age when we can spend billions on nuclear bombs to kill some odd-million people, I really don't see how we can just let people live in poverty.

 

It's called capitalism my friend! It's who can screw who over worse.

No one deserves in be poor in my opinion, but sociologist will say that it is a a must.

 

I don't think they deserve it. Sometimes it's passed down from their parents or generations before them who decided to give up and take on a life of poverty. If people gave them a chance I bet they would they it and get out of poverty.

I believe in Social Darwinism. Someone has to be poor and someone has to be rich. Its unfortunate that these people must live in those conditions but it is part of the world.

Nobody deserves to be in poverty, we have more then enough.

 

You could call it karma, I would rather call it the result of corruption... poverty and deprivation are only created because of beings with self-serving agendas... if you waste money often, you will eventually end up poor in your life because you are not using the planetary resources or the life force wisely.... or your quality of life will deteriorate unless you are helping an insurmountable number of people.

Most poor people are being oppressed by the federal reserve and the current system of planetary control, blame capitalism and human ignorance if you want, or look inside of yourself and choose to take responsibility for your world, love one another and take it upon yourselves to create a better world....

It is an advanced pyramid system, all of the poor people are the deprived populations at the bottom in all nations, mostly third world economies, which are supporting rich elitists... the economic system was rigged up by the federal reserve and private corporations, and high spiritual beings to enslave the human populations and create a catalysts for transformations within consciousness on a higher dimensional scale, most often... people in first world nations are brainwashed to exploit and depend upon corrupted economic system which continues to deprive these people, failing to realize that every single object you are buying is coming from the direct exploitation of nature and the human spirit....

This is planetary control 101... if you implement a system and make the majority of the species dependent on it, then you gain control through this manipulation... the solution is sustainable, you remove yourself from the limited mind-sets of these systems, and in this way you are embracing new paradigm lifestyles which are able to produce new ways of living... It means you protest corporations and quit spending money... you go live in intentional and sustainable communities who can support your life-style, and quit subjecting yourself to the brainwashing implemented through technology, media, and go back to mother nature.... sacred magicks reside here!

Denounce the media for corruption, denounce the economy and protest to create change... quit video games, quit consuming corporate trash, spend time in the woods and your life will be better for it....

What the hell are you talking about? Your post doesn't pertain to this discussion at all and it just sounds crazy. By posting on the forums aren't you propagating the beast that you are trying to fight? You obviously have computer and a source of internet but yet you are so anti-technology you tell us to shirk all our materials possessions. The chances are that you aren't practicing what you are spewing on these forums.

On topic: While I am not a Social Darwinist there are times when people are poor for a reason, such as those who leech the system and try to abuse it. They ruin things for the people who actually need the system.

 

Sure some people were born into a hard life, but those people who have the ability t escape or avoid poverty and do not take that route do deserve it. On the other hand, if everybody was equal, we would have to pay about $20 for a big mac, and computers would cost tens of thousands of dollars. It is meant to be this way due to human nature

Do rich people deserve to be rich?

Not sure, but regardless they got to that point in some way.

 

The majority of people who live in absolute poverty most likely don't deserve it. If you are born into a country who as a whole is in poverty, there isn't much you can do about it, and you don't "deserve it".

However lazy Canadians on the other hand who are too lazy to get a job.. well thats a different story. Anyone who is given a chance but chooses not to take it deserves to live in poverty.

OT: I don't think the people that are stuck in the situation, i.e Papua New Guinea deserve it. There's really nothing they can do but try and take a canoe to another country. People that ruin their lives with drugs and stupid decisions deserve it. Life is tough and don't waste it.
