How to Create and Upload an Internet Video

This guide will teach the every-day internet user how to record and upload their very own Youtube video.

To create a video online you will need a video recorder and video editing software. Some are free. Others cost money.

**Through out this guide I will be explaining the free method using "HyperCam" and "Windows Movie Maker" because I do not have $800+ to spend on the top of the line software.**

Recording your video

We will be using HyperCam to record our videos.

The first thing you need to do is open up HyperCam and it will tell you that it is unregistered (unless you registered it) and that you will have a small "Unregistered HyperCam" sign in all of your videos. That is the downfall of HyperCam but that is ok.



Once you accept you want to either "select region" or "select window" what I would suggest is selecting a region. Slow computers can not run with a large region selected so experiment and see what your computer can run on without lag.



When you hit select region a cross-hair will come up and you can select a rectangular section of your screen to film.

The hotkeys you need to know are F2 For starting/stopping your video, F3 For pausing/unpausing your video, and F4 for a screen shot of a pasued screen.



Hit F2 to start recording whatever you want; an msn chat, a Runescape PK video, or anything else you desire.

Editing and saving Your Video

Once you are satisfied with your video you want to get it onto Windows Movie Maker (WMM)

First open WMM and you will see a nice set up.

Under "Import" on the left side of WMM says "video". Click that and you should see clip0001, clip0002, etc. if not type that in and open it up.



Once it is in your new WMM project drag it into your time line at the bottom.

You can experiment with the different effects and music you can put into your video then you want to save your project by selecting File>save project as..

When it is saved you want to hit Ctrl+P and "Publish" your movie. This will save your video into the correct format for Youtube and other upload sites.

Uploading your video

Next you want to upload your video to youtube. If you don't have an account you can register one at www.youtube.com

When your account is made you will want to go on the drop down list under your user name and select "my videos"

On the top left side you will see New, hover your mouse over that and click "video upload"



Follow the instructions on that page and wait for your video to go live.

Congratz! You just created and uploaded a video!
