Okay this is not a complaint

A simple question

Since the new 3k limit is going to be put ino place wont this make merchanting virtually impossible?

because to have a 3k limit wouldn't jagex have a set price?

which means the price of items doesn't drop or fall?

simple question no flaming

Exactly, merchenting does not exist anymore unless you sell it for merely 3k more, which obviously will not get you any money. The way I see it is that the economy will soon fall quite a bit.

lol @ ur sig bro

1st of jan will be exactly when jagex dies.

jeez that andrew gowers a legend

well im glad my acc has neg members now... now i cant play(Addiction broken :P) and the whole updates have ruined game for me anyways but yea

well sorry to all you merchanters out there i reccomend u sell all your rares and just wait because prices dropping soon on everything......

actually the 3k trade limit is only for certain people from the looks of it in some of the cases iv been ina trade screen and a 3k limit appears for them because tehy give out money alot more often. well atleast for now could change though =\

The stuff on the RS explains it better but the simple answer is "The price can still change as the prices on the Grand Exchange allow for a 5% difference from the current average price and the current average price can change over time"

So if item X is currently 100 GP you can buy/sell for between 95gp and 105gp, and if more trades happen at 95gp it moves to 95gp as the average price (and a 91gp-104gp band) and if more trades happen at 105gp it moves to 105gp as the average price (and a 101gp-109gp band).

Merchanting can still happen, its just slower and is more like playing a stockmarket than it was before.

Hope that helps :-)

Well, RS just added a new updated saying:
2. As many people have suggested, we're planning to raise the 3,000gp staking/trading limit for certain players. This will be proportional to the number of Quest Points you have, with the top-end being ten-times what it is now! This should still offer protection from cheats, while also giving you more flexibility in your staking and trading activities.

This probably means the more quest points you have the higher your limit is.
As I think...

Also, I heard people who tried to kind of screw up the GE system. For example, some1 bought 1k kebabs for 5 gp each (lowest was 1 gp) Suddenly, the average prices of kebabs were 5gp each, and he bought 1k for 10 gp each and suddenly the average was 10 gp, so I guess with time, the prices in GE change... And currently a small handful of people have found a way to go around the RWT. And i hear they are selling it. Well, thats all I know. Hope it helps!
