Question about Player Auctions and timezones

Hi Sythe, long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm planning on selling mils via Player Auctions soon, and I was wondering what happens when a buyer makes a purchase while a seller is offline. I live in Australia, and I'm exactly 12 hours in front of US Eastern Daylight Time, so I will be probably be asleep during peek trading times. Even if I leave a message in my listings telling buyers to confirm that I am online before making payment, it's bound to happen eventually that someone pays anyway, and because of the time difference it is certainly possible that we will never both be online at the same time, leaving me unable to deliver the GP.

Am I supposed to endure the negative feedback from such situations or is there some way I can prevent people placing orders while I'm offline? Any input is appreciated.

Question about Player Auctions and timezones

When someone buys something of playerauctions, after paying there is still a button where you need to confirm that you have received the item. Before that playeracutions wont send the money to seller.

And you can set time how soon you are able to deliver the gold after the deal is done.

Question about Player Auctions and timezones

Thanks for the reply. What I'm saying is that it is possible I will be left unable to deliver the gold, since I live in a completely different timezone to most and both the buyer and seller must be online at the same time to transfer GP. What should I do in such a situation?

Question about Player Auctions and timezones

Usually people won't order when you're offline. You can set your trading hours on playerauctions when you are usually online.

People will only order from you when you're offline if you have extremely good prices. If they do order and cancel after that, send them a pm on playerauctions explaining you weren't online and ask for positive feedback and say you will give positive feedback then aswell.

Question about Player Auctions and timezones

In your selling thread on PA, you could just state the times you are online, and your timezone? Im sure buyer can just look at your thread and if he cant be on those times, just skip to next seller. And im certainly sure you would be able to get online at the same time with buyer at some point...i live in a quite interesting timezone when it comes to ppl here on sythe too, and ive always been able to make deals anyway. And if you cant deliver the gold, there is a button to cancel the deal.
