Looking for some PvPing tips

Hey everyone,

I've been PvPing alot on my main account, and I'm looking for some tips.

I PK with mage only, using Fire Blast on F2P and Fire Wave on P2P.

Stats: 82 Mage, 44 Def, 61 HP, 30 Pray

Below is my P2P PKing outfit. The only difference in F2P is the Ring of Recoil.



My inventory usually comprises of:

100 Deaths/Bloods
400 Airs
2 Laws
2 Earths
Antipoison/Super Def (P2P)
Tuna/Lobsters

I get tons of kills but I tend to die alot as well, so I usually buy my outfits by the dozens.

I get rune kills every so often in F2P, but nothing decent in P2P. The drops I do get barely cover my rune costs, which is usually over a quarter million per PKing day.

Pretty much, PvPing just seems to be an expensive hobby instead of the "source of income" Jagex promised. I don't do it for the money, but I'd feel a bit better if my PKing could at least pay for itself.

Maybe this is why I almost never see any other mages in PvP, because noone else can afford it.

Any tips?

 

In p2p you should bring a K0 weapon such as a dds, d bow, g maul, etc...

Depending on your melee stats you could also do this in f2p with a r2h or baxe or something because I find it really hard to get kills without being able to k0 them.

 

My strength level is only 45, I suppose I could train without raising any CB levels (I'm CB 69 atm).

The only problem is that it's alot harder to transition between maging/meleeing then it is between range and melee, as you have to reset the staff's autocast.

 

I would raise range and hybrid pk.

 

well first off whilst pking in p2p use splitbark or something similar, and i would defintely recommend getting the god staffs or ancients, you could use fire blast or something then zammy flames them for the ko

Charge + Saradomin Strike = Ftw
(Mage Pot = Teleblock = FTW)

 

Do dt and then, blitz - dbow/maul/dds.

 

yeah maging is expensive, and yah get some attk and str.

 

To prevent yourself from dieing (the best way) ALWAYS bring runes for Lumbridge Teleport.

This is the best way to make sure you don't die, unless it's legit 1 on 1


other then that the only thing I can suggest is using better food (Swordfish/Lobsters)

 

Yeah, I always have lumby teles with me. I like the God Spells for k0 idea alot, I'm going to look into that. Wouldn't I have to be wielding an ancient staff/god staff to use them?

Also, any suggestions for F2P mage pking?

 

You should really do DT and get 94 mage so you can barrage since OBVIOUSLY you can afford it

Oh and when you pk, make sure you have at least 75k in items and cash because itl greatly increase the loot you obtain

 

f2p i no this sounds wierd and like wow but u have to pj. you not really get nothing good unless you do so

 

I've been avoiding that since I die, oh, once every ten minutes or so.

-600k an hour isn't cool even for me.

 

Get some god spells and get 50 attack/50 str and you can easily hit 20s with maul for k0s plus its a 3 hit spec so ur gonna hit atleast 40 all together and at level 69 they probably only have 70 hp so the god spells will lower the health pretty low than bam k0!

 

Hit 20's with mauls at 50 str? More like 13's...if you're lucky.


But all in all the mauls a good idea, get 70 strenght and then you can ko with maul in p2p, and with a rune 2h in f2p.

 

do desert treasure.
get 70 def and pk in ahrims or pk in void mage
mage pot and telleblock
god spells ftw
get some better equipment, its kinda soft, no wonder u get ko'd
mainly get def tho, mages need all the def they can get

 

Try not to k0 in begining of battle , the longer you fight the better loot is

 

Always take binds with you in F2P because most of full rune noobs in G.e. don't take tele

 

I might have to try that, I've never really wanted to waste the food space lol

The maul k0 is also a good idea

 

Get range up and KO with D Bow, it works better than it sounds! lol
